Recorded a 46" vertical at the combine? Sorry if its old news I just thought that was incredible.

From Wikipedia:Sensabaugh recorded a 46" vertical at the NFL Combine, the highest for an NFL player on record.[1] He was then selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the fifth round (157th overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft.

It may be old news but, if true, that is an incredible vertical.

I always rememebr the combine heroes.

I remember hearing about Bob Sanders this way

Why do I doubt Sensabaugh can get close to that now?

I know. I was responding to the post immediately above mine.

I know, sorry, I guess I worded it badly, lol...I was responding to yours in a posistive way, basically implying you seem much cooler than the poster above you.

Sorry for the confusion.

Its old news, everyone brought it up when he 1st signed.

Well I was just messing around and I had never heard it, so I thought what the heck...I guess the last few years has been kinda crazy for me and I havent been able to keep up with the little things like I used to :)

I saw him in college at North Carolina--great athlete who had trouble staying healthy.

News to me. Thanks.

Same here. I guess I missed it when people pointed it out when he first signed. That's an impressive vertical, no doubt.

People don't really understand what a vertical like that means. Football players on average are more explosive and have higher verticals than basketball players. I'm play basketball recreationally and I'm 6'1. A 47 inch vertical will mean I can hit my head on the rim from a standing position. That's more than any player ever in a dunk contest can hope for.

Now from a running position? That's just insane what a guy with that kind of ability can accomplish. Especially if he can palm a ball and has good coordination in his approach steps. I'll venture to say that a 46' vertical is not just the best ever at the combine, where a lot of great athletes have performed, but should be one of the better numbers ever put up by any athletes in the world if measured right.

Mind you, most of the 48-50 inch vertical you hear about are reported wrong as they are not from a standing position.

Buehler needs to challenge him to a vertical jump contest.

no we would lose our kicker, its already well know that if he really tried jumping with more than half his force, he would never land.
