Did anyone else miss the first quarter?

I got a raw deal here in Pennsylvania as well....one small tip though: if you have the Sunday Ticket and your local station isn't showing the game, and the Sunday Ticket channel is blacked out, you can still view the game in real time on the "game mix" station (which you should have if you have the Ticket). The only drawback is the game will share your TV screen with like 5 other games (they'll each have their own little box). Not the best but better than nothing. That was what I did until Fox switched broadcasts.

I've had to resort to the game mix a few times because of games running long, but unfortunately I was out of town this week and had to use Sunday Ticket Mobile...which doesn't have game mix. So, I had to settle for the red zone channel to get as much as I could. Of course just before Dallas started their last drive they come on and say, well, the DAL/NY game is the only one left, so we're signing out. I had to scramble and fake that my location was in the Netherlands and use nfl gamepass.

You guys missed the amazing Jeff Heath return a fumble for a 50 yard TOUCHDOWN! Cowboys 7-0

His agility was amazing on that play. I couldn't believe how he made all those guys miss without even appearing to move from a straight line. It was insane!

Game mix until they unblocked the Sunday Ticket channel. Kept checking back, once the local channel was on just switched to it.

I have DirecTV and Sunday Ticket and still didn't get most of the first quarter because it was supposed to be shown on my local Fox station. They automatically black out the Sunday Ticket channel to force you to watch it on the local channel. If the previous game goes into overtime -- or, in this case, if the station gets SWITCHED to an overtime game -- and it doesn't end before the late game starts, you can't watch the late game until the OT game ends or DirecTV finally gets around to unblocking the Sunday Ticket channel. That's why I always hate it when we play in the second game of a network doubleheader -- there's always a risk of not being able to watch the beginning of the game.

Same here. I watched the first quarter on the game mix channel (Ch. 702). Sucks that they do that. I dont remember them switching a game that wasnt previously on the local station before, and I was furious. My local 1pm game was Carolina/Miami, once that was over I was relieved the Cowboys would be on, then they went and put GB on. They should at least free up the Directv channel for the Cowboys game, it makes no sense the way they do it, given what we pay for it,

Stupid Green Bay game. When the game came on for me there were 8 seconds left in the first.

I live in California and missed the entire first quarter as well. The worse thing is that I always record the games on my DVR so I can skip through the endless commercials and I even recorded the game on two different channels on my wife's advice. I get home and get to watch Green Bay / Minnesota and then on the final drive of the Cowboy game, the image just froze and would not continue. This was right after the big 3rd down conversion to Dez when they were still way out of field goal range. So I load up the other recording and fast forward to the same point in the game and it let me get a few seconds further before the recording ended. Aaargh! Serves me right for not watching the game live I guess but man was I pissed. I finally just looked at my laptop to see the final score. At least that was a nice view :)
