After the game they showed a back view and he did not. They then said he's not dumb like Orlovsky.

BOOMER SAYS FLACCO DIDN’T STEP OUT

Posted by Mike Florio on January 10, 2009, 7:43 p.m.

Well, at least someone at CBS is paying attention.

After no reference during the game and no mention of it for much of the post-game coverage, Boomer Esiason acknowledged the 10,000-pound elephant in the end zone.

Specifically, whether Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco stepped out of the end zone in the fourth quarter.

Boomer said on the air that Flacco did not step out.

After the commercial, CBS showed a definitive replay.

Flacco did not step out. Unquestionably. Indisputably. He did not step out.
Here’s a still frame that a reader sent us, which seems to suggest otherwise. But Flacco’s foot was in the air at the time; he never stepped out of the end zone.

He also did not receive the snap prior to the play clock hitting zero on what I think was their game winning drive.

Yeah that was an obvious delay of game.

The only controversy here is that the announcers missed it and nobody alerted them to it

We will be hearing about 2 questionable plays that could have changed the games outcome soon enough..

the announcers missed what? He did NOT step out so what did they miss? Did they miss mentioning that he ALMOST stepped out?

That is an absolute referee flub. It was 0 a long time. No flag.

yeah, they missed on that one, big time. could have changed the game because i think they were 3rd and long on that play, if i remember correctly.

they replayed that play on slow motion and on regular time. both times it was clear it was delay of game.

im not much of a football nerd, so im asking this. that kind of play cannot be challenged, right?

The Ravens win is kind of tainted. THe officiating was some of the worst officiating I have seen this year. He did step out of bounds, and then the refs never called delay of game on that winning drive when the clock was at zero and almost 2 seconds passed by after it was at zero. It was pretty obvious who the refs wanted to see win. But, the Titans have only themselves to blame. They should have blown out the Ravens but their costly turnovers killed them. Hopefully the Ravens have to go to Pittsburgh, I would rather see the Steelers in the Super Bowl than the Ravens.

It was on 0 for at least 3 seconds

But the Titans killed themselves with turnovers.

No he did not.

Check out the previous post in this thread...I saw the replay after the game. He did not step out of bounds.

After taking a closer look at that picture, it looks like Flacco has dabbled in levitation...or levitation has dabbled in Flacco.

what hurts more for tennessee is that all of their turnovers are in the red zone.

just imagine if they were able to get just even one td on those turnovers, or even fg's on all 3 drives. the game would have been theirs long before the game ended.

The Titans beat themselves with their turnovers. That was the AFC team I would have liked to have seen in the Super Bowl. Well hopefully now either the Steelers or the Chargers will knock the Ravens out.

I'd rather see SD or Balt than Pitt. If Pitt makes you can mark down #6 for them and the refs. :(
