Man, is he clueless.

The two quotes that stick in my mind are:

I'm not jumping on the media bandwagon that's already convicted Mike. It's not what's goood for him.

And:

We play in front of 70,000 screaming fans. Not knowing week to week who our QB will be won't affect us at all.

Let me guess... Pads are unnecessary as well?

Turn your helmet around, Joe, it's on backwards!!!

Exactly what did you expect him to say? Our players stick by TO when he swallows a bottle of pain pills and complains about not getting the ball after games where he's dropped half his passes. That's what players do.

Read up on Joe Horn - he's a real 'role model' himself.

Or ask Willie Roaf about it......

I would expect him to say nothing. That is what should be going on. There is no possible way that support, of any kind, will be viewed favorably from the public at this point.

Heck, for all we know, going on in the back of Horn's mind is, "Humm......... that means Vicks girl is going to be alone for some time." There is a history there.

He also said that he was against dogfighting but then had to ask, "But don't you think all animals are created equal? Do you think that? Do you?"

Implying, of course, that it's not *really* all that bad.

Joe Horn is just supporting Mike Vick...

What's funny to me is that Joe Horn has been a teammate of Vicks for exactly zero seasons. He's just been signed. Seems odd that he would be the lone voice of reason in Falcon land.

I'd expect him to say either something intelligent or nothing at all. Sounding like a complete idiot does nothing to support anyone.

I think there's QUITE a difference between overtly sticking by a team mate who has potentially attempted to commit suicide and one who has been indicted by the Fed for allagedly engaging in the training of dogs to rip each other apart and hanging/drowning/electrocuting them when they don't.

Poor Ted Bundy's mom...you know she died two days after Bundy was electrocuted, right?

Yeah, she died of heart failure because the prison sent her the electric bill..!

I didn't hear the interview, so I'm just going by the quotes given.

From the quotes given, I take it he said something along the lines of..

a) Michael Vick isn't guilty until he's had his chance to defend himself in court, not just based on the court of public opinion.

b) They're still going to have a good season, regardless of what happens.

It's pretty generic stuff, and exactly what I would expect a teammate to say.

I think the crimes, if true, are pretty despicable and evil, but some people's Vick boners are out of control. Its like they've spent hours upon hours studying and reading every single nuance of the story. Every day I turn on anything sports or media related, I have to sit through 3 hours of Michael Vick talk to get to 15 minutes of sports talk. There are corrupt politicians and world leaders far more deserving of even a fraction of this kind of scrutiny and outcry.

Horn says suspension would not help Vick or Falcons

Michael Vick has yet to speak publicly about his federal dogfighting indictment. But he has talked to at least one of his Atlanta Falcons teammates about the trouble it has caused him and his team.

"Mike is saddened about the tension this is going to cause the team," wide receiver Joe Horn told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "I assured him I support him, the rest of the guys support him and the team supports him. Whether he's guilty or innocent or whether you believe he is, time will tell."

Horn, who signed with the Falcons as a free agent this offseason, also told the Journal-Constitution that suspending Vick and keeping him away from the team would not be good for the quarterback or the Falcons. Vick and three other men were indicted on dogfighting charges by a federal grand jury in Richmond, Va., on Tuesday.

"I think he should be around. The more he's around his teammates playing football might help Michael Vick. I don't think suspending him is going to help him," Horn said, according to the newspaper. "Michael wants to play football. He told me over and over again, 'I know what's going on and I need to be there playing and go through training camp to try and get through this.'"

The NFL reportedly will allow Vick to play while the legal process plays out, and Falcons owner Arthur Blank said the team will carefully consider its options and is "committed to doing the right thing." Sources told ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli that Vick and Blank spoke by phone on Wednesday, and that Vick was apologetic.

While Horn indicated Vick's teammates are supporting him, another group made a public show of its displeasure with Vick and pressure the NFL to suspend him.

Like I said before, I hope Vick does play this season! I want him out in public so he can feel the ridicule and embarassment he has caused himself, the Falcons and the NFL...along with the general population (aside from ThreeSportStar)...

This Joe Horn guy is a freaking idiot if he thinks it's better for Vick to play this year! Man, oh man, the pressure would be hard for the Falcons at every game!

The best thing is for Vick to sit and get his act togeather, find out what is going to happen, then try to repair whatever part of his life had been ruined...

I really wonder sometimes if these guys actually learned anything in college aside from playing football?

I was just thinking, I remember last year when TO was signed to the cowboys, all kinds of heads exploded. People got flaming pissed, saying he was a cancer and they'd never cheer for the cowboys again and all this. I even remember one guy sold his allegiance to the Cowboys on Ebay.

My question is this, why haven't we heard the same outcry from ATL fans? I've scooted over to those message boards and most seem to be like, oh, it's a crock and that's BS. Surely what Vick did is considerably worse then anything TO's ever done (hurt people's feelings).
