Did Browns' Hue Jackson hint about QB preference in draft?

He might have clued everyone in to his preference on which QB the Browns take with a comment he made Wednesday at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Jackson said hand size -- a trait that draws a lot of attention when it comes to QBs -- does indeed matter for signal-callers, citing the rainy, snowyweather that QBs will encounter when playing in the AFC North.

Why is this a potential hint into his QB preference?

The top quarterbacks at the combine this week have not yet had their hands measured here in Indianapolis, but the scuttlebutt, per USA TODAY's Tom Pelissero, is that Cal's Jared Goff, one of the top QBs available this year, has "tiny" hands.

Only a matter of time. Again I think too many people here are too pumped up about a player that won't be available.
Wentz will be a brown

Cal QB Jared Goff's hands are "supposedly tiny," according to Tom Pelissero of USA Today.
For a number of teams, there is a threshold for a quarterback's hand size. Some use 9-inches, others use 9.5-inches. Why do teams use minimums? To increase their odds by eliminating players that do no fit the "successful" mold. Yes, this means teams will miss out on quality players who do not fit within the parameters, but these teams trust in, what they believe, is good processto win out in the end. Pelissero reports coaches and scouts are curious of Goff's measurements this week, which will take place on Thursday. Feb 24 - 9:16 AM

why dont they wait for one more day to find out Romo has small hands and he did fine,i dont think its a huge concern playing in the NFC east.

Romo's were just 8 and some change though he did go undrafted.

I think Goff will be fine, tomorrow we should know the facts.

Maybe it is something to do with the old adage about men with big hands having large gloves.

I agree. I think Branden Allen hangs around the league a while too. Aikman has three rings and couldnt throw a wet ball.

Lynch's hands are supposedly enormous. Maybe that's what will get back up to the top of the draft.

Well we are know what Jeff Foxworthy said, "now ladies we all know if he has big hands, or big feet, or big nose, or big ears. Well shoot ladie, he better be packing because that's one goofy looking dude."

God I dont want Goff in Dallas. This isnt even a reason, just more ammo

Boy....you ain't kidding.

If we take Goff...this would be the equivalent to us passing on Moss...Maybe even bigger. This would set us back literally 5 years...or until a real head coach is hired..and we clean house.....starting w/ Goff.

Unless they're super, child-like small, I don't really care

Though I hope they're small enough for the Browns to grab Wentz instead

It's that time of year where people start over analyzing things again.

Some do, some don't.

Vikings GM Rick Spielman just brushed off the small hands thing noting that if they don't fumble, who cares.

Thing is, Goff does have a bit of a fumbling issue. Just saying.
