Romo gets power driven into the turf and the ref just stands there playing pokemon on his IPhone while Dak gets what might be a questionable call.

This is completely wrong.

The officials are old and probably have no idea what Pokémon Go is.

On the other hand, I cannot see how on earth Aaron Rodgers is likeable, but he always gets the roughing calls.

According to Greg Jennings, who played with both Rodgers and Brett Favre, teammates liked Favre more than Rodgers. Rodgers is one of the cockiest quarterbacks you will ever see. He's generally easy to hate, but the Packers deal with it because he wins.

Weak call, but when you dive for a QBs legs while he's in the pocket, it will be called more than not, regardless of the contact.
It's like not looking at the ball in pass coverage. You're going to get called for PI if you don't look.

I agree. Tony Romo and Cam Newton seem to never get roughing the passer calls. But nobody can breathe on Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady without getting a six figure fine from the league office.

At least that's what it looks like from my perspective.

You want to know how right you are. I'm gonna give you some stats - don't ever forget--

2nd-half Roughing the Passer Calls, since 2006

Rodgers 16

Brees 13

Brady 12

Rothlisbrgr 6

PManning 4

Romo 1

Pass Attempts per 2nd-half RTP Call, since 2006

Rodgers every 192 att

Brady every 224 att

Brees every 242 att

Roethlsbrgr every 391 att

PManning every 609 att

Romo every 2,209 att

That is an absolute disgrace. The fact that Dak got one is amazing.

That kinda proves my point.

Romo gets power driven into the turf and the ref just stands there playing pokemon on his IPhone while Dak gets what might be a questionable call.

Same play, same hit, Romo would never get that call in a 1000 years.

I think people just have a natural tendency to feel sorry for Dak. He was benched 3 times in the preseason and it looks like he's going to be the first QB in league history to start an entire season without throwing a TD pass. Yet he still trots out there every week. It's inspiring in it's own way.

How about the same dive at the feet of Cousins on the last play of the game. I thought for sure that was going to be a penalty since they called the same thing on the Skins with that hit on Dak.

I find this hard to believe. Especially with that championship belt thing. I mean, that is utter humility in action.

Cam Newton has gotten more roughing calls than any QB in the NFL since 2011.
He did until last year when he had that controversy with Ed Hoculi...Cam said the ref told him "he wasn't old enough to get calls" and Cam called him out publicly.......Cam hasn't got a roughing call since.......refs are like umpires.....you show them up and they all turn on you

It looked like a make up call for the one Cousins got. Neither one should have bee called.

Thought both roughing the passer calls were weak.
I said the same thing but at leas they evened out....the hands to face on Norman was touchy as well

But I feel 1000% OK with getting a couple calls and winning vs the usual *****ing about the refs after a loss

It's almost impossible to legally tackle the QB anymore.

What bothers me most about these flags are they are not consistent with the calls. Cam Newton gets whack around and gets no calls yet both Cousins and Dak got calls that were very ticky tack.

Come on now, your thinking about a Dakota tattoo aren't you? You are just trying to determine if it would be best on your forearm or chest because of that eczema thing that pops up every now and then.

I am so used to defenders driving Romo into the turf and diving at his knees with no flag ever being thrown that I just assumed that was all legal now, so when Dak got a roughing flag I was in total shock.

Poor Romo be like, "what the hell ref, where have those flags been for me"?
ON a kind of related matter, I thought the refs were really quick to blow the whistle.

On 2 plays, Dak had a defender around his legs but was still able to get the ball away for what could have been an INC pass. But officials had blown the whistle and they were considered sacks.

HOpefully refs will watch more carefully in future games and give him an extra second or two
