Did Last nights win force Minn to play the last game straight up? *Merge*

If I have calculated correct, if Min and NO both end up at 14-2 then Min gets the home field. Both teams play at noon on the final day, so Minn wouldn't be able to rest their starters. Anybody else confirm this?

Hmmm, very good observation. I hope so, that would help us out if they would beat the Giants. Won't matter though because we are winning the division. :)

depends. If NO plays at noon on week 17, and they win. There is no reason for the vikes to play balls out at 3pm.

I was thinking the same thing, started a thread on it earlier but got no responses.

Both teams play at noon, as stated in the OP.

unless they flex em they are both noon games

I wouldn't put it past the league to change the time to give Lord Favre a chance to rest. :(

Not only was this win so big in terms of momentum, but it also helps assure that the Vikes will have something to play for week 17 against the Giants. I was worried that they would rest the starters but now they have that #1 seed in their sights.

I know we control our destiny, but it sure helps.

I think it depends on what time New Orleans plays vs when Minny plays.

Good point. Hopefully Minny plays before the Saints.

Who holds the tiebreaker in they both are 14-2?

They're both noon games. I think a game will be flexed, more than likely the Saints game. I can't see the league flexing the Vikes game because if the Saints win it'll be a borefest in Minn. It'd be nice to have the Vikes game at noon and the Saints game later since they actually have something to play for, better ratings.

Minnesota will own the tiebreaker at 14-2. Saints will have 2 losses to NFC, Vikes will have 1. Better conference record owns tiebreaker since they never played head to head.

Minnesota could lose to Carolina tonight. You know they are an NFL team, playing the guy people on here thought would replace Romo at QB???

they won't both play at noon. They're scheduled at noon tentatively, but that's how it works in Week 17. Most of the games are scheduled at noon but will later have their times changed depending on the magnitude. I wouldn't be surprised to see Vikings/Giants moved to the 3pm game or flexed to SNF.

And there is SNF on week 17. We just won't know the game until the week before.

Actually, I bet we'll get moved to 3pm (I think we've already maxed out our primetime games), and GB/Arizona get flexed to SNF. And then Vikings/Giants will remain at 12. This is the scenario I'm hoping for so it means Saints and Vikings play at the same time.

Looks like the Vikings may have something to play for in week 17 against the Giants. Home field advantage?
