Did the Cowboys actually look best in the NFC East

Hence the thread title, was asking a question for discussion. IMO, I think the Cowboys overall may have been slightly better. But can see the Eagles right there, because they came back to win. They were bad in the first half, just bad play all the way around. The Cowboys were bad because thy dug themselves a hole.

That's what bad teams do though, they dig holes and then can't climb out of it.

I did say in another thread earlier today, this team is not good enough to overcome these type of mistakes.
They give up a fumble for a TD, they press, Romo throws a few picks, and they never seem to overcome that.

They make a valiant effort to come back, but rarely do.

Bottom line is we could have the best other 52 players on the team, but if Romo's back has killed either his mentality or his arm's ability, the rest doesn't matter.

If you're going to dig holes, it's better to dig them against bad teams like Philly did, so you at least give yourself a shot a winning the game.

This division sucks out loud. Garrett has been dealt such a fortunate hand the past few years with how absolutely awful the other teams in the division have been. Really mind blowing that he hasnt been able to get out of his own way and make the playoffs at least once.

The Eagles looked the best even though they stunk in the 1st half.

The Cowboys did face the best team.
Not sure what that means.

The Giants just flat out stunk.

Considering the competition we played, we looked better than the Giants and Skins, but not the Eagles. They won by scoring 34 straight points. Yea, it was against a bad team, but they still ended up winning convincingly. Our offense was pretty good minus the TOs, but they're a part of the game. Who ever is responsible for not running the ball when we were in the red zone twice (Romo, Garrett, Linehan ???) cost us a chance to win the game. It's that simple.

guess you didn't read the title ...
and who said anything about moral victories...

but I expect this...

You know if you ask a question and don't like the answers that line up with your answer...maybe you should not ask the question or at the least be open to the idea that most people are not going to agree with your take.

Just something to consider.

Jacksonville and Texans aren't in the same galaxy as the niners, that's for sure... but Dallas made their mistakes and it was a blowout by qtr. 2... so it is what it is.

Winning teams don't usually make those mistakes.

The team improved in some areas and has become much more physical... but it won't matter until they play smart and limit mistakes.

At least the improved physical play from Dallas will increase the chances of making the other team have mistakes.

No.

This was debated in another thread, so I won't go too deep into it, but, the 49ers were playing conservative football in the second half.
IMO they could of made the score more lopsided if they wanted to.
Dallas didn't look good at all in week 1.

Luckily, one game doesn't define a season.
Based off of week 1:
1. Eagles
2. The rest.

I'm as down on the Cowboys as anyone but I agree that this division is clearly up for grabs.

All 4 teams stink but I believe Philly will probably win out because they aren't as gutless as the Cowboys are.

Take away Romo's INT's, And Murray's fumble, even though other teams had their turnovers too.
But did Dallas actually play the better overall ball this first weekend of the East.

Washington did nothing against a not so good Texans team. RG3 harassed all day, defense looked bad, just that Houston couldn't score.

Giants defense looked worse than ours was supposed to have. Eli looked a s bad as Romo, and their overall offense did not look good either.

Eagles defense didn't look all that great, against a poor Jaguars team, and Eagles offense did nothing until Jaquars started screwing up, and got tired. Stupid penalties. But overall they did come back and looked decent even at that. So I won't take that away from them. Still a formidable win as they fought back.

Dallas had a solid game running the ball, and at times passing, until well, Romo had brain farts.
Defense played better than expected, really only gave up 14 points. Yeah, the doomers saying SF let up, ran the ball, blah, blah, blah...even if so, the run defense still did what they were supposed to do, and stopped them mostly in the 2nd half. Still too many wide open receivers in the passing game though.

But overall, I believe we looked the best, with the Eagles a very close 2nd. Giants , then Commanders.

And yes I watched all the games.

Commanders were on regular TV in Houston, I had Eagles on through my slingbox at house back in DFW.
Cowboys on in Houston, then Giants tonight.
So it's not from highlights or reading or just my thoughts.
I did see all 4 games.

Without the turnovers, yes we were driving the ball and the defense held up pretty good.

We can win the East.

Dallas lost the game in about 4 minutes of playing time. Everything after that was garbage time for the Niners. You guys think the Dallas defense tightened up, but it was SF who gameplanned to close the game out. Harbaugh doesn't throw the ball 40 times with a huge lead. We were embarrassed at home.

If you want to change the entire dynamic of the game by taking away turnovers to fit your fantasy, go ahead.

Commanders D looked bad? What the heck were you watching?

You want to take away all of dallas' dumb plays and refuse to do the same for the other teams

Skins offense was horrendous.. . Defensively, they played well.. Very well... Much better than the crap by our D

And the eagles looked far better than everyone

The Iggles only scored 27. A fumble return was good for the last 7.

The Eagles look like the best team in the division. We really need to sweep them in order to have a chance for the playoffs.

I'll agree with the first part but the second on playoff chances.... No.
