wow, really nice. Is this your way of trying to insult me on a post.
I did say other teams had their turnovers too, but hey, whatever, go for your insults

I think I was illustrating the absurd.

I really didn't think the 49er's were that good so being taken apart by them was really discouraging. The Cowboys looked awful in preseason and it continued in the first game. If they beat the Titans, I will still be concerned about this team because from what I've seen, this team is no different than what we've seen from the previous 3 seasons, they're maybe even worse.

You didn't think they were that good? Those guys just last season were almost NFL champions and the only one who looked they could even play with the Seahawks. But you didn't think they were that good?

The 49ers looked awful in preseason too and where did that get them?

But you see how that works? They lose to the 9ers who didn't think "were that good" but you jump off the ledge. IF(A big IF at this point) they beat the Titans you're still on that ledge.

Maybe you're unaware of how many of last year's SF players, didn't play against the Cowboys on Sunday and then they had 2 more major injuries to their secondary during the game. This is not even close to the same SF team as the previous 3 seasons. They're not that good this year.

The game was over at the half, and the rest of the game was basically meaningless stat padding to sooth the annihilation that had taken place. This was a blowout.

As the score indicates, yes.

As a relative measure of each teams capabilities? Time will tell, and frankly I can see a multitude of outcomes for the Cowboys, from very bad to fringe playoff team.

Take away Romo's INT's, And Murray's fumble, even though other teams had their turnovers too.
But did Dallas actually play the better overall ball this first weekend of the East.

Washington did nothing against a not so good Texans team. RG3 harassed all day, defense looked bad, just that Houston couldn't score.

Giants defense looked worse than ours was supposed to have. Eli looked a s bad as Romo, and their overall offense did not look good either.

Eagles defense didn't look all that great, against a poor Jaguars team, and Eagles offense did nothing until Jaquars started screwing up, and got tired. Stupid penalties. But overall they did come back and looked decent even at that. So I won't take that away from them. Still a formidable win as they fought back.

Dallas had a solid game running the ball, and at times passing, until well, Romo had brain farts.
Defense played better than expected, really only gave up 14 points. Yeah, the doomers saying SF let up, ran the ball, blah, blah, blah...even if so, the run defense still did what they were supposed to do, and stopped them mostly in the 2nd half. Still too many wide open receivers in the passing game though.

But overall, I believe we looked the best, with the Eagles a very close 2nd. Giants , then Commanders.

And yes I watched all the games.

Commanders were on regular TV in Houston, I had Eagles on through my slingbox at house back in DFW.
Cowboys on in Houston, then Giants tonight.
So it's not from highlights or reading or just my thoughts.
I did see all 4 games.

Is that you, Jerry?

Id say the cowboys looked the worst of the 4 but they also played the best team. But the eagles were getting blown out and came back. Dallas got blown out so bad the 49ers shut it off at the half and coasted. But dallas isnt near a top team so this was expected.

Best post in the thread, exactly my thoughts.

can't take away room's interceptions. they happened. so we can do the same and take away a few bad plays for the giants, skins and philly as well. then only giants looked worse.

No, for the most part, I agree with you.

I just think that Harbaugh was still trying to score as best he could without risking the big lead.

I have no doubt that the defensive stats were skewed some by the nature of the early blowout. What I do know is that SF was trying its best to run the ball in the second half... that they are a very good, physical running team... and that the Cowboys defense stood up much better in the run game than they ever did last year.

Unfortunately, I also understand that the Cowboys defense didn't have to worry about the pass quite as much in the 2nd half, and so could load up against the run better.

Still, even with that, the physical nature of the Cowboys team in matching up with SF, and against the run game in particular, looks much better than last year to my untrained eye.

In the end, we need to wait a couple more games to really see what we have.

Triple like.............That display of what was supposed to be football was of the like of a keystone cop episode..............at the circus.

We all liked what we saw from the OL. That's about it.

What Harbaugh did or did not do weighs heavily in favor of skewed data.

I do agree with your assessment of his coaching, tho.

not a moral victory, you have no thoughts on the actual topic?

"If you remove the INTS, fumbles, and consider that the 49ers are the best team any of the NFC East teams played, the Cowboys looked the best even though they got blown out" = Moral Victory.

"The other NFC East teams looked worse" = Moral Victory.

Saying the Cowboys came out on top in something since they didn't come out on top in the game = Moral Victory.

Probably should have just stuck to discussing the positives from the game instead of comparing the Cowboys' loss to other teams' losses. (And in the case of the Eagles, their win lol)

They were missing Bowman and Aldon Smith. Their team isn't built off those two guys. Justin Smith was still out there. P Willis was still out there. As stupid as Ahmad Brooks played in that 1st quarter he was still out there and is a Pro Bowler. Their receiving core is Boldin, Stevie Johnson and Crabtree. If they're "not that good" than who is in your eyes? Because they are arguably the 2nd best team we'll face this year behind the Seahawks.

Many analysts got caught up into how bad they looked in the preseason but they still have a solid roster not to mention a lot of those guys who were rookies are getting better. Eric Reid keeps getting better with each season.

Cowboys didn't lose to a bad team. They lost a superior team and did it by beating themselves.

The term "moral victory" is overrated. Why fans get caught up in that term is so ridiculous to me.

"What do you think about your teams execution?"

"I'm all for it."
LOL good ol John McKay here's some others:

"On recruiting his son, J.K., to play football at USC: "I had a rather distinct advantage. I slept with his mother."

Standing on the sidelines during a game, McKay said, "Can't stop a pass, or a run...otherwise we're in great shape."

After the Buccaneers won their first regular season game against the New Orleans Saints during the 1977 season 33–14, McKay mused, "Three or four plane crashes and we're in the playoffs."

Their entire secondary from last year is gone, with the exception of Reid, and then their two corners got injured during the game. This is not the same team, and many people thought the Cowboys could win that game by attacking the weakness of SF, which is their defense. I'm not saying that their team is built solely around Bowman and Aldon Smith, but please don't gloss over their loss like it's no big deal. Bowman is the best LB in the game and Smith is one of the top DE's in the game and their loss is a huge gap in that defense.
