Did They Let Us Score?

I never had a coach say 'let them score'. Especially when we had a lead.

On the Zeke run that put us up 29-24? What was the right thing to do there? Score or go down at the one? They had 2 time outs left, but it was under 2 mins. Not a criticism, just curious as it is not clear what happened there.

I think they let us score, otherwise we were gonna run clock out. As far as Zeke going in the endzone instead of falling at one yard line I think you never leave points on the field. Take the TD and trust your defense.

They didn't let us score.

They had two time outs and there were two minutes left. If they hold us to a FG, they would have had over a minute to get into FG range. If they let us score, they have to score a TD. Huge difference. Letting us score there would've been nuts.

I think they did. If they didn't, they should have. The Cowboys could have drained the clock and burned both of the Steelers' timeouts.

Then again if the Cowboys kick a FG there the Steelers wouldn't have had to get into the end zone to win it.

Who knows? I would have let the offense score in that spot and defend the two point attempt. Mainly because of the Cowboys' defense.

The backside defender was hurdling a pile trying to get in on the play and no one was going half speed. Fred simply dominated the NT and Martin clobbered the ILB at the poa.

We do have the best run blocking OL of the past decade after all.

I think the question was answered with Zeke's next TD. The D line was shredded both times.

Going down at the one would be asinine when you can go up by a TD

That and it's unrealistic to expect a guy to purposely not score in the heat of the battle with his team behind.

Arena League strategy! I think more teams should use it, especially if your defense is not that good but your offense is.

My first thought was that they let us score because they were afraid we would make them burn their timeouts and kick the FG with little to no time on the clock.

After looking at the play several times, I don't think they did. Guys were trying to get back into the play, they just got steam rolled by the OL.

As far as Pitt's players saying they didn't let us, they would never admit it one way or the other. Can't believe anything they say about it.
