did we abuse the Browns again in this 2nd round trade?

Srry terms of trade I heard ...

Our 2nd ... for Browns 3rd, 4th, and flipping our 6th with them, (moving up 17 spots there .....)?

Is that right?

From this point it's Ireland and scouts to battle things out ...

I love it. We have the 4th pick Sunday morning! There will be arguments long into the night tonight at the Ranch and with Ireland at the helm we'll get an awesome pick.

I love the draft. It takes my mind off the Mavs.

well, we did not rape them but we certainly had some seriously rough sex.

I think there are gonna be some "Red Flags" raised against us in 2008.

Eric Wright may be in jail instead of in the NFL. I wouldn't want to touch him. Then getting a top 10 pick for next year. I think we are raping the Browns today. But the Browns did improve themselves for next year.

the browns ended up with the best qb in the draft, the best o lineman in the draft and a pretty good cb, we got anthony spencer so for this year you tell me who wound up for the better, i assure you our pick next year wont be a top 10 pick.

Me too. Basically what it boils down to right now is that we moved up from a 5th to a 4th, moved up higher in the 6th, and gave up a 2nd round pick in exchange for a potential top 5 pick in 2008, and still got the top guy we wanted.

Quinn isn't the best QB in the draft. Maybe the best OLineman but look at the history of the top OLineman over the last 5-10 years and it's not really good.

Spencer will probably start from game one. And in college he abused the 2 offensive linemen picked in the top 5.

according to the charts its a wash..

They give up 370 points and gain 364. They’re trading quality for quantity, gambling that a 3rd and two 4th rounders can get them more than a 2nd and a 4th.

The browns will have to win 7 games to force the pick out of the top 10, I do not see that happening.

I'm ok with the trade and the Spencer pick but wish we had done something better in our second pick than get a third and a mess more second day picks.

Cleveland ain't turning it around that fast. It will be somewhere in the 5-8 range, at worst.

So if I understand the way everything shook down, we now have 10 picks from the 3 round on? That should fill the practice squad. I have been wondering how many picks this year were even going to make the squad.

Jones is playing it smart because he can take projects now and not worry about paying big money. If someone pans out he will be a steal. If not, and you have to cut them, it won't hurt as bad.

Jerruh is having a big day. I am excited about the Browns first next year, but sick that I have to wait till next year to find out what we get. Hope I don't get hit by a peach truck.

You know, I respect someone who can voice a firm opinion in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. I don't know how you can keep complaining or how you can guarantee that Cleveland will suddenly become so much better, but I respect your resolve.

I think we've had one hell of a draft so far.

We're at pick 62, by the way, and several of the players people were talking about us grabbing at 53 are still on the board. Jason Hill could very, very easily be there at 67. So could Marcus McCauley, Tanard Jackson, Antonio Pittman, Mason Crosby, and Trent Edwards. In fact, two of them are guaranteed to be there at 67.

So why all the fuss? Who did you want that was available that we didn't take?

I think he wanted Lawrence Taylor.

The more picks you have the better odds you have for hitting on guys.

The thing is...you need to be smart enough drafters to hit on these picks. time will tell if Dallas can.

I love the very early 4th round, of which we now have No. 4 in the 4th round ...

All these scouts for years, and recently coaches in the offseason, can parse who are the studs .. in rounds 1 2 and maybe 3.

Now ... all of a sudden, it's a "new draft" with us No. 4 in that draft, Sunday morning that is ... was Bradie James up there then, I can't remember .. it isn't crunch time anymore ... Awesome, everybody get out their draft lists out tonight and predict our pick! Who would be the best guy at No. 4 (!)

Very cool ... here is where Ireland and scouts really can pull out a diamond in the rough. On second day there's no penalty for "reaching" .... just go for whoever you might have hoped would creep into UDFA territory .. just go for that cat.

That said maybe Skyler Green was that "reach" a year ago ... I DO hope that Wade hasn't presented to Jerry all kinds of "PET CATS" (Parcells-speak, a Skyler Green-reach) that Wade MUST HAVE ...

OT: Is anyone worried here that W. Phillips is like the Ron Washington of this year .... Good God Parcells and Showalter are gone .. now we have a relaxed "room" ... :))

Just heard the Warroom conversation of the recent 2nd round draft-down, on the Ticket, want to hear it again, with some "salty language ....?"

I love the Ticket ...
