Did we hire Kiffen or Marinelli first?

Just did a quick google... We hired Kiffen on the January 12th and Marinelli around the 19th. This is making me a little weary about us letting Kiffen go because of Marinelli's loyalty. If Marinelli was hired first I could see easily letting Kiffen go.

I have a feeling Marinelli was brought in with the knowledge that Kiffin isn't going to be here long even if it's only because he's got to be close to retirement. I think Kiffin's main job in being here is to implement the defense that Marinelli is intended to run after a season or two.

Or I could have just made that all up, who knows

Marinelli looks blind squinting on the sidelines. Maybe it's the ineptitude of the defense that's causing him to have trouble focusing his eyes. It's almost like he can't believe what he's seeing.

Marinelli could be a DC somewhere, he came to Dallas specifically to work with Monte. Depending on how this season goes it may not even matter how he feels. If Garrett should get canned I would hope we clean house and let the new coach actually pick all of his assistants. A novel concept for Jerry I know, but the right way to move forward should he make that call.

ok times up. 10 games into the season lets fire the father that had his son fired midway into the same season. Sure will make the Thanksgiving feast festive at the Kiffin household

I hope Jones does not have to fire Kiffin.

I would expect that the old man has enough smarts to simply retire while he can still try to save his dignity.

The defense is obviously terrible. All three levels have to be addressed and upgraded. Both in starters and reserves. It is a mutli year process imo.

I believe any defense is better if your 4 rushers can get consistent pressure. It is not the whole fix, but definitely the most important imo. If Dallas can get two additional pressure players in the next year, I think that would improve the defense significantly. They would still need to upgrade the talent on the rest of the defense but I think getting more pressure is the best and easiest way to get the defense back to normal.

Being able to pass on offense and disrupt the pass on defense is the best way to win in todays game.
