Did yesterday change any of your minds on Romo?

They feed to build on yesterday's great offensive performance.

Tony appears well so the deep ball is working. Witten was great yest. Williams had a great game.

The most telling stat yest was that Dallas was the first team in a long time to have an opening possession on the Broncos.

I'm in the Romosexual boat too, and I don't think even haters doubted he could turn out a game like that, it's what happened at the end that irks you. Rodney Harrison actually put it perfectly, he said that on the sideline, Romo was thinking about making a mistake, not going out there and winning the game. That's exactly how I feel when I'm watching him, even though I believe he can pull the late game wins out, I still peek through the fingers that cover my face to watch them, because he's such a nervous player.

We all knew he could play great for 55 minutes. It's in crunch time when ppl doubt him. And rightfully so, everyone knew it was coming. I think if he had a good coach it wouldn't be like that.

I've been a big defender of Romo, but got to admit, on that final drive I knew something bad would happen (thought it would be just a 3-and-out and Peyton would drive for the win - but as soon as the INT happened I did a "Could have had a V-8" head hit and said "of course, an INT" so I guess I have gotten more inclined to believe Romo will choke instead of pull out the win. I realize the foot stomp on him really negates the choke part, but bad things do seem to happen. Very unfortunate and I feel bad for Tony.

Not really. Romo already broke my spirit and thank the good lord I'm not cursed with battered fan syndrome.

Romo can pick a conservative defense apart with the best of them but as soon as the defense amps up the pressure the mistakes happen. See his last two plays yesterday. He had Murray uncovered in the middle of the field. How many times did Manning dump it to Moreno for first downs?

Yet he'll never be in a category with the great ones until he proves he can win big games. Like it or not.

That's fine. I know what I see. There are those who think Eli is "elite". That's an absolute joke. What others think and what is true are often different. Perception and reality are not necessarily the same. IMO Romo is a great QB. Based in QB statistical measures, it's true. Based on team accomplishments, it's not.

If anything this game is starting to sway me to the dark side. I really like Romo and it is a damn shame this team has saddled him with an intern as the headcoach for the prime of his career, but man alive. These late game blow ups are seriously getting on my nerves. I was flat out expecting the implosion at the end of yesterdays game. A microcosm of his career, a bunch of fantastic passes and guady stats followed by implosion at the worst possible time.

Romo is Brett Favre without the rings, and Mvps. He'll put up great numbers but also make forced throws that turn into mistakes.

Anyone who thinks Romo is a "bad" QB is out to lunch. There are plenty of bad QBs in the NFL. However, Romo will never be remembered as an all time great when he makes critical mistakes like he did against the Broncos and has over his career. That is another fact.

Lol. "What others think and what is true are often different"

Not in football. Eli has two rings. Romo zero. You either win or you don't.......

We can talk and talk and opine...... It's either a win or it isn't.....

Romo lost yesterday. Peyton won.

So Denver waited until Romo threw for 506 yards and five touchdowns before deciding to amp up the pressure? Romo made one mistake in the best game of his life. At this point, we all should be feeling at least a little sympathy for him instead of rehashing the obvious.

I am proud of Romo and he displayed much more than great ability or a hot passing hand. He knew he had to match Manning or it would be a blowout and he did. Grinding like that for 60 minutes is a tough grind and he handled it perfectly. At second and 16, I would much rather go after it even if close and risky than play safe, possibly give the ball back and watch the defense get crapped on for the 51st or 55th point of the game for Denver. I think we all agree that Denver would have scored. I am happy he made the throw and I believe it would have been a different result if he was not altered at the moment he let it go. I have been proud of Romo's play for the most part regardless of the handful of throws he has made that made me want to destroy my tv. I can't think of another QB we could go get that would be even close other than the brief opportunity all teams had to go get Manning. For those that blindly criticize Romo at every turn, I assume many of you just enjoy doing so just to blame someone because you rarely offer up an alternative to getting a replacement for him. If you have issues with throws here and there, I get it and I think that is well justified.

no not at all

he's not as good as Danny White

we will never win with him

Rodney Harrison: "He's thinking about making a mistake, not about making a play."

Harrison also said that the scouting report on Romo was that he was going to make a mistake sometime during the ball game

That is the scouting report on the entire offense to be fair. Just be patient, keep it close and wait for the heartbreaker to fall in your lap.

This game absolutely sums up Romo's career in Dallas... Good enough to keep you in the game but bad enough to lose it at the end.

Yes, I must admit it. I did change my mind about him. I went from thinking he will never be a SB winning QB to knowing he wont. But, hey, his stats are awesome and that's all that really matters in the end, right?

so how come our defense can't keep a lead romo gives them late in the game? if our D would quit putting romo in a bag of crap he just got us out of, "public perception" would be very different i'm sure.

I don't care if you are a Romo hater, A Romo lover, A teammate of Romo, or even Romo himself. You KNEW that INT was coming and so did all your friends.

Rodney Harrison: "He's thinking about making a mistake, not about making a play."

I actually thought Romo's physical skills were eroding, but in yesterday's game he disproved that to a large degree. Either he was hurting in those previous games or I was just wrong. Doesn't matter to me either way.

I'm not Romo's biggest fan or his biggest critic, but yesterday's game didn't reinforce any negative feelings about Romo for me. I do fear the occasional game where he comes out off and never seems to have it (Washington game for ex), but the 55-58 minutes of brilliance followed by a last minute turnover that kills the game...that's more fantasy than reality. It's happened before (as it has with all qb's), but not nearly as much as people suggest. His career numbers clearly prove he's worse out of the gate than at the finish line.

Romo's performance yesterday just reaffirmed what I've been saying about him all along. He's a very productive QB who can make a lot of plays but when a game is on the line and he has to make a play he folds. Every season he reinforces this stigma with an ill-timed turnover.
