That was literally one of the most undermanned pro teams I've ever seen.
They make the 2001 Cowboys look like playoff contenders.

Of course part of this was intentional as Jimmy discarded a bunch of veterans like Danny White, Randy White, Michael Downs Timmy Newsome and Steve Pelleur and of course Herschel Walker.

It was a good move because other than Walker (whose story you know) they had little if anything left.

But in the Plan B pre-free agency era, yecchh

You guys are way off on the Romo choked theory.

It was not his best game, but it was certainly far better than his worst.

He made a handful of superior plays in the game.
The type of plays few QB's can make.

The play he made on the Crayton drop was outstanding.

The intentional grounding was an INCORRECT CALL.
The NFL came out Tuesday and confirmed that.
Tony did what he was supposed to do on that play.
Would you rather he rollout to where the defenders were and take another bad sack as he did a couple series earlier?

The 4th Q was ugly, but that had little to do with Romo playing poorly.
Poor pass protection, dropped passes, bad penalities and perhaps some not so great play calling by our favorite and now highly compensated coordinator.
How bout even one screen pass in the face of all those 4thQ blitzes.

Even with all this going against him, ROMO was still able to throw what appeared to be a near perfect pass to Crayton for the potential game winner.

Romo flat our CHOKED In the 4th quarter. Period.

I love him, and I don't think that game defines him, but he choked at the end of the game. It happens to EVERY QB that plays the game at some point or another. It happened to Romo on sunday.

I agree with you Rack. It reminded me of the Romo before he became a starter and proved he could play. He was a little out of control you could just tell.

Tony Romo did not choke in the 4th Quarter or any portion of the game.

The guy was flat out under duress for most of the second half. Under that situation, he was forced to make quick decisions, such as The Crayton Drop and the flip pass to Jason Witten. Tony Romo had a very average game against the Giants, which is indicative of his play the last 3-4 games. However, Tony Romo made enough plays during the game to give his team a chance to advance, including plays in the 4th Quarter.

Finally, his final drive of that infamous Playoff game is eerily similar to the Game winning drive he led against Detroit. Tony Romo cannot force Crayton, who was able to get on top of his receiver (as receivers say), to continue and give himself a chance to catch perfectly placed Game Winning Pass.

The video below provides a poignant example of just how much duress he was under in the second half:

It didn't have to be his worst game for it to be a choke job.

Choke to me is being unable to get the ball to the receivers -he cannot catch them. The INT is closest since he actually had some time on that play- but by then he had lost all trust in his O line.
That is what really happened- by that last drive he had lost trust in his O line and was losing trust in his WRs.
And that last play- Witten should have been a target- not blocking.

I wouldn't say he choked, but he did lose his composure, which he hadn't done during the season and thats counting the Buffalo game. Choke is a harsh statement, but after seeing him so composed during the season, I can see how people come to the conclusion that he choked. He kinda reminded me of someone playing Madden going three touchdowns down and just heaving passes out there hoping for a miracle. He's young and on a big stage, this lesson. although harsh, will be benfital to him greatly down the road. Although, you still see Brett Farve doing it ie. the Dallas game. The fourth quarter was chaotic as hell and they needed someone with a cool head. The grounding penalty threw him over the edge.

Yes, he did.

I've gotta agree he simply choked when the game mattered the most. He got all frustrated and started taking it out on his o-line instead of keeping his cool and finding a way to pull out the football game. It's what leaders do on offense. If you show you're frustration to the opposing defense it gives them momentum and shows their rattling you inside. You simply gotta show more composure over the situation than tony did there in the 4th quarter. It was flat out a choke job on his part. Never let you're opponent know you're frustrated it'll just let them know they can have their way with you. Bad timing on romo's part..

I blame Romo for taking the two sacks. Other than that, it's been reported that our WR's were running mystery routes all game and not reading the blitzes and running their hot routes in the 4th quarter. When your line aint blocking and your WR's are where they're supposed to be, you start to "choke" like Troy "choked" in 1998 against the Cardinals.

And whatever he did to "lose his composure" was tame compared to the way Troy used to spike the ball down and stare down his linemen when there was a blocking breakdown and he had to take a sack.

whats' so far fetched about it? I think his final two drives had choke written all over him but that's just my opinion.

True he took the sacks but how many times has he converted big plays while under pressure. I think some of this is taking the good with the bad.
