He was talking about Stanback texting him to find out when he has time to work out with him. I know quite a few of fans here pretty much think he is a bust already, so thought I would post this.

He said he loved the fact that Stanback was looking to be coached and recieve tips. It sounds like Stanback asks Irvin quite a few times or has plans to work out with Irvin.

Although none of that means much, if he can't stay healthy obviously, but its good hear, that Stanback seems like a very hard worker. Hope he can stay healthy this year and show something on the field.

Ahh, finally some new information. I think we're all going crazy trying to figure out if Tony Romo is a winner or not.

Stanback is a freak of nature, now if he can just stay healthy, who knows? He could be a real threat. But he better have a nice training camp, and a really good preseason.

Count me in as one who hopes he comes through. But I won't hold my breath.

I have no doubt Stanback works hard -- folks wrote him off here too soon. That said, it is put up or shut up time this year for him. I'm all for giving developmental guys adequate time but if he doesn't show something in preseason and TC this year, then it is time to cut bait. I'm not saying he's gotta show he can be a starter but he does have to show the potential to be our #4 WR

He did well when he played last regular season, and you have to respect his toughness and work ethic, regardless if you were among the whiners who think he is an organization-ruining bust of a 4th round pick.

I hope he comes through, but his injuries severely compromised his ability to develop.

While Stanback is a freak of nature and has all the measurables to play WR, he's still the lowest WR on the depth chart; because he is still a project until he proves otherwise. Don't take that as me hating on him. Actually, I like the guy and the potential he can bring, but right now it's still potential and nothing more.

Stanback's already been faced with two obstacles: learning the WR position and overcoming injuries. Both are huge undertakings for a guy playing a new position in the NFL. So I don't see 2009 as the year he has to prove he belongs. As long as he stays helatly and shows some forward progress then he'll still have years to further develop as a Cowboys WR beyond 2009.

Edit: If there is just one area that Stanback absolutely has to prorve himself in, then it's special teams. It's there, mainly as a KR or PR, where he must prove he belongs to further his carrer as a Cowboy past 2009, provided he shows progress as a WR.

I hope he can stay healthy. He always gets hurt at the wrong time.

I think everyone is routing for him, and not sure how many people think he is a "bust", but he is a project since he is changing position. He has "freakish" athletic ability, BUT, he also has MAJORLY problematic shoulder issues as well as a propensity for other injuries. When you are a project and are switching positions, learning something entirely new, this is a huge handicap, and has already put him 2 years behind his hoped for development (as a Project, which is behind college receivers already). I think he gets this one more offseason and training camp, but I doubt he gets to 2010 training camp without a major step forward and a relatively healthy year this year.

That being said, I am (and I guess most are) routing for him.

I was skeptical about Fasano's shoulders as he was handicapped by them for a couple of seasons, but he seems to have bounced back this last season in Miami, although I think Scandrick's are in worse shape!).

Didn't you get the memo? Apparently the wildcat is dead in the NFL. It won't be used anymore.

So does this mean Stanback is trying out for the Playmaker's reality show?

Hmm... Maybe:eek: Or maybe he will workout with Irvin out there since Irvin barely has time, with all his ventures he has going on. Talking about Ventures, apparently Irvin at one point, like in 99 or 2000 before Mark Cuban sold his company was supposed to be involved in business venture with him.

He had other people also in it, supposedly something to do with Clothing line. Anyway, he couldn't close the deal, and Cuban get Irvin signed and one or two years later Cuban sold it. And if Irvin had stayed with it, apparently he would netted close to $100 Mil dollars  He was cursing himself about it, when he had Mark Cuban as special guest on his show, with Cuban rubbing it to him.

I'm not ready to write this guy off, he has shown enough while healthy to tell me he has potential...whether the guy can stay healthy enough to realize his potential is another question.

Irvin - Stanback comments

IMO, this is his last year to show and prove.

I'm really pulling for Stanback, I hope he can work his way up the depth chart show us all something. However, if he doesn't this year.. then I think it's time to cut ties, three years should be long enough to learn the position.

If Brandon Tate is there at the top of the 4th, grab him and let Stanglass go. He can't and won't ever stay healthy with that shoulder injury.

About him giving oral sex to a gay porn star?

Yeah I heard it too, this stuff is made up all the time to just throw something out there for controversy.

I've been a supporter of Stanback since day one. The guy has all the tools to be one hell of a wr. to bad his shoulder is getting in the way. He has to stay healthy this offseason and show some improvement.

Anyways it's time for my offseason Stanback Signature....
