Didn't we invest in another TE to protect against injuries to our LT/RT?

Passing up on Desean Jackson had a dominoe effect. It meant we would eventually trade a 1st, 3rd and 5th for Roy Williams. But I thought one of the ideas behind investing a 2nd rd pick in a TE when we ALREADY had Witten as to allow the team to run plays with both of them on the field. At times both would go out, or both would stay in...one would go out and the other would stay in and help block...just trying to keep the defense off balance and HELP THE OL WHEN THEY STRUGGLED to protect.

Now I know this might cause for slower paced games and drives that take longer. But winning UGLY is supposed to be accepted in Dallas these days. I don't understand all of the hand wringing. Line up someone at RT....ask him to hold his own at times...help at times...chip at times....roll the pocket at times....and of course RUN THE BALL SOME MORE. I mean these coaches are making a TON of money...they need to do their jobs and make it work!

Your meager $50 jersey is hardly the contribution to this teams finances, much less Garrett's $3-Mill...

They didn't pass on DeSean Jackson when they took Bennett(He was already gone). Why do people keep claiming that? Felix Jones and Mike Jenkins were the first round picks, which made a lot more sense there than DeSean.

I'll take Jenkins over Jackson...At this point we need a strong defense. A WR can be shutdown, they are a dime a dozen. Good Cbs are hard to find.

Not to mention, we saw what happened when Jenkins went down on Sunday. I'm happy enough with our receiving corps to say that Jackson wouldn't be the upgrade to the WR position that Jenkins is to the CB position of this team.

if Dallas wanted Jackson..which they DID NOT...they could have EASILY Moved around to get him...let's STOP pretending like that would have mattered. I mean when has that EVER stopped us...we wanted Roy and gave up the farm for him...Braylond Edwards was just had for a couple of 2nd day picks. So I am WELL AWARE Jackson was off the board when Bennett was picked...but Dallas made it CLEAR they were not interested. And that is beside my point....my point is we have 2 TEs..and they are supposed to allow us to help with both run blocking and pass protection. So I don't understand the big worry about Colombo being gone. Teams deal with injuries ALL over the NFL. Line up the next guy and PLAY!

It is not easy to move up if it costs you an arm and a leg to do so. Dallas would have had to give up a couple of draft picks to move up and get Jackson before the Eagles did. I never assume that a deal could have been easily done. Just because Jerry has shown he is willing to trade doesn't mean there is another team willing to trade with him. Dallas took Jenkins and Jones instead of Jackson, but did not choose Bennett instead of Jackson.

Because we have dumb fans who dont pay attention.

Peope act like Desean Jackson is Jerry Rice in his prime or something. When in fact undrafted WR Miles Austin's numbers are better than Jacksons, and the oft crucified Roy Williams AND Patrick Crayton arnt that far off from his numbers.
