Diggs not expected to play Sunday

Its hard to think the DC would'nt play him if he helped the defense, i literally think Ebrfuss is coaching for his job right now... begs the question what the hell did Diggs do in the rooms... or you know told Jerry he didnt like his hairpiece or something..

Sources: #Cowboys All-Pro CB Trevon Diggs will not play Sunday vs the Vikings.

This comes after what was described to me as a “great week of practice,” while multiple sources tell me the relationship between Diggs and the organization has “soured” and “been severed.”

Diggs, who last played Week 6 and has already been activated from IR, told reporters this week that he was “ready.”

There is something very shady about Diggs and his home injury. If he doesn't play another down for the Cowboys, I'm good with that. His one minute of fame has done passed him bye-bye!

So assuming everyone's post saying he will be released or traded is accurate, do you think our F.O. will think twice about these ridiculous contracts? Or do we just continue down this road every year?

i mean....

I have been a Cowboys fan for 50 years. And if we lose because of guys egos I will be pissed. We better not look like burnt toast.

He's done, it appears; the last non-football incident was the final straw.
As it should be....I applaud the front office for finally growing a set of balls and taking a stand. I would have moved on last year. You can only do this so many times when making a tackle.

When he's traded next year, can't wait to hear the real story.
We wouldn't even get a ham sandwich for Diggs. He'll be a release. I think they save like $15 million on the cap if they release him as post June 1.

Okay.....

If the Cowboys have "soured" on Diggs why did they bother using one of their return from IR slots on him?

Things just aren't adding up. Ever since that "home accident" figuring out what is going on with this guy is like trying to see what's happening at Area 51.
:hammer:..But then again....It could be pay back. Diggs got the front office all excited....they finally get their pro-bowl CB back......Had big dreams of seeing Diggs/Revel/Bland as their star studded back end....Only to see Diggs blow it up with his crap attitude. What a better way to pay back than to get him all excited to make a playoff run....only to sit his ***. Make an example of him to the rest of the team. Not gonna get on board with your rehab here??? Cowboys definitely setting a precedent.

I don't think this is the case. If it was, they could just cut him now. It's not that big of a dead cap, and they have plenty of space they don't intend to use. A June 1st cut next year doesn't make sense either. He'll be a 5M dead cap.
If they cut him now, he could be claimed by a potential playoff team. So if Dallas did make it, you’re potentially strengthening your competition.

I’m not sure where you’re getting your cap numbers.

Paying him to sit on the bench all year makes zero sense unless cutting him is prohibitive. Which it isn't. Playing him could improve his trade value, as long as he's good enough to be out there. Sitting him as some form of punishment is just stupid.
There is zero trade value. None.

I think they don't want to play him because they don't want him to get injured, and leave them on the hook for more money than is already sunk in him. He's going to get released ASAP after the season.

You're contradicting yourself here. If we're strengthening our competition by letting someone else pick him up, shouldn't he be playing here? Not on the bench.

He has no trade value if you sit him all year. If he plays, it can only go up. If it doesn't, we lose nothing.

Diggs is a 5.8M Dead cap next year. June first cuts aren't usually used on tiny dead caps.

Micah Parsons...Cowboys didn't pay him...

I’m not the one who’s benching him.

And if he should get hurt, the Cowboys can’t outright release him after this season.

Again, where are you getting your numbers?
