Guys/Gals,

I'm looking to buy a digital camera to replace my ancient Kodak digi-cam from the late 90's. Any recommendations on brands/specific cameras preferably in the less than $200 range? All I'll be doing is basic photography, nothing fancy.

I would recommend the Nikon Coolpix. Easy to use and takes great pictures for the $. I wanted to get my parents something nicer for Xmas so I bought them a $500 camara, which was returned for a Coolpix. Mine cheap little Coolpix took much clearer pictures and was alot easier to use.

I have a fuji finepix e550 I got it a year ago I think, Its pretty much more than I will ever need. Its a 6.3 megepixel rating but fuji has this thing where it doubles the resolution to 12 mega pixel. Either way it takes awesome pics, you just gotta be careful cause you see everything in the pics, think nose hair and pores.

this thread made me realise I lost the memory card, I saw it the other day and though man thats not where that goes how odd. But of course I kept on moving. Now I can't remember where it was...
