Dink and dunk era is potentially over

Over the last few years, we've seen the Cowboys use a lot of dink and dunk type stuff mostly to supplant an anemic running game. We've used the short passing game with high percentage passes to get small chunks of yards.

I think those days are entirely over now. I think Linehan will focus on the running game a lot more than Garrett did, and when we pass I think it'll be more deliberately focused on getting the ball down the field. Every QB he has had seems to have taken twice as many deep shots down the field as Romo did last year.

With what should be an improved offensive line, I think we'll try taking our shots a lot more, but at the same time, I really expect really big things out of our running game. I still hope we can address guard in the short term. I don't think it is a great idea to stick with the status quo.

I think the addition of Martin will be bigger than Linehan as far as expanding the offensive possibilities. Either way, if Romo is fully healthy, I think we can expect a top offense in the league. If not, who knows.

Not at all, the long pass will open up the rest of the Offensive game even more. Never understood why Dallas was so reluctant over the Romo years to throw the ball down the field and unburden other aspects of the Offense.

Making the opposing Defense look for the big play helps everything else. Of course since the Cowboys Drafted Zach Martin in the 1st, its far more likely to work.

Schedule is brutal... but I absolutely love the offensive line they've put together. Smith, Frederick, and Martin... all blue chippers and all very young. They're so mobile and talented that they will indeed make a lot possible on offense.

Getting Martin was brilliant. I desperately wanted us to draft Donald, but I'd much rather have Martin than Barr. Honestly, he is simply a fantastic football player. All three of those guys can easily get to the second level and that really opens up a running game.

We have all waited so long for an offensive line like this one, that I think as a fanbase, we might enjoy the offensive line more than just about any before us, lol.

I don't see it that way. You are going of teams from last year. You have no idea if our schedule will be harder or easier

NFC West, Saints, Texans, Colts those teams will be tough to beat. Then include our division...you don't have to be that smart to realize that it will be a tough ride.

This is all assuming JG remains far away from any of the offensive strategy sessions. As a matter of fact, I would be in favor of our new OC filing a restraining order on JG.

If we're expecting rookies to make our defensive line good, don't. People need to understand, when you build through the draft picking in the middle of the pack, you're not getting top talent. Meaning, it's going to take 2 to 3 years before this crop does anything great. If they somehow managed to beat the odds, then consider us a lucky few.

Texans....haha that's funny let me know when they get a QB.

Most of the "tough"teams we get at home. Didn't say it would be easy but to think we have a losing record.....nah I just don't see it

I can understand the lack of attempts of long passes over the last couple of years. Romo gas had trouble getting it deep. Some gave blamed it on his back, so I guess we will see this season.
