So true. The amount of whining and moaning about officiating after every loss is so tiresome. How about playing better and overcoming adversity? How about the offense putting up more than 7 points against a defense missing two pass rushers and two corners. Just be better and stop the lame excuses.
Folks --
The NFL is set up in a way that everybody can compete. These are professional players and professional coaches. Why should Dallas have the disadvantage of getting more erroneous penalty calls, or non calls, vs. other teams? How is that fair??
You can say losers make excuses all they want, but when you're going into the game giving your opponent the advantage from the refereeing standpoint, that puts Dallas behind the eight ball. Again, I don't care what the record is, these are professional NFL teams. Arizona just so happened to be 10-5, only a game behind the Cowboys. Any tilt in the penalty game, so to speak, could be huge.
Now for those that don't think there is not some chicanery going on.. let me ask you this:
Dallas either leads the league in penalties, or is in the top two. Do you honestly believe that most of these penalties, or at least a good chunk, are really on the players? MM, DQ, and KM strike me as no nonsense coaches, not people that are going to teach their players how to cheat a little bit and hope they get away with it. You know, oh gee, what's the word I'm looking for. Oh yeah, DISCIPLINE. The Cowboys are not as undisciplined as a penalty scorecard would make it look out to be. They are too good for that, the roster is too good for that. They don't need to cheat to win, they just need to get their damn heads in the game. They are their own worst enemy, but it is not because they're committing all of these penalties.
Again, it's not just the calls against the Cowboys, it's the non calls, the penalties that never get called that should. I agree that some of those benefit Dallas, to be sure, especially against one of our guards who shall remain nameless, but far more of these non calls benefit Dallas' opponents. If you can't see that, then you're not watching the game very closely. I can't help you then. I can only bring a horse to water, I can't make the horse drink.
