LANDOVER, Md. -- Kirk Cousins threw a 63-yard touchdown pass to DeSean Jackson and scored on a quarterback sneak, Washington intercepted Eli Manning three times, and the Commanders held on to beat the New York Giants 20-14 Sunday, pulling into a tie for the NFC East lead.

The Commanders and Giants are both 5-6. The Philadelphia Eagles (4-7) and Dallas Cowboys (3-8) are the other members of the mediocre division. Washington hosts Dallas next Monday night, Dec. 7.

It was the 20th three-interception game of Manning's career.

Trailing 20-0, the Giants made it close when Manning threw fourth-quarter TD passes of 40 yards to Rueben Randle and 21 yards to Odell Beckham Jr., who made a fantastic diving catch, corralling the ball with his left hand while parallel to the ground.

It's sad to be 3-8 and think there is hope. Right now Skins look tough on D and I think next week is going to be tough. Gis TD winning would have been a nice relief to put the talk to rest

Well at least they can't knock Romo out of the game again. Might see Moore afterall.

Why won't everyone just know that this season is over? The Cowboys can "hunt" as much as they want, but, their are out of bullets and their sniper is gone for this years battle.

I wish they would stop with these ridiculous articles about how the Cowboys are still in the hunt.

It's over. The only thing they in the hunt for is a top 5 draft pick.

Yeah, baby!!! Gimme that top 5!!!

This team is not in the hunt. They stayed behind in the cabin where it's nice and warm and are having hot cocoa.

LOL yeah good one, but mathematically they are still in it till they lose some more games.
As I said before if the other east teams keep losing it will keep the cowboys in it .
I am kinda rooting for kirk cousins, and Commanders, would rather see them win div over phil or NYG.

So now the next game with Commanders is now a big game for Commanders, and for our cowboys.

Dec 06 PHI @ NE....... guess who wins ?? NE did lose gronk though last nite. but eagles may easily lose this.
Dec 06 NYJ @ NYG ....... Jets can beat giants
Dec 07 DAL @ WAS ........who knows but dallas could win lol
So if phi and giants lose and dal beats was, then it is even tighter
Dallas 4-8
phil 4-8
Giants 5-7
Commanders 5-7

if wash wins.
Then
Wash 6-6
nyg 5-7
phil 4-8
dallas 3-9

Hit them with enough rubber bullets, and....well, never mind....LOL...
Amazing to think, we can be 1 game out of first after next week. Or we can be just as easily out of playoffs for good.

Remember how pathetic the NFC South was last year, even TB was in the race with a few wins at this point. Then Panthers run off 4 wins to win the division.
Not saying we will do that, as we will be lucky to win 1 more game.

Yep. It won't matter anyway, but we actually are still in the hunt, inexplicably.

Having a hard time caring, though.

I understand that. As much as I will still root to win, it will not upset me if we lose either. Unless it comes down to that last game, and it is for a better draft pick, like the #1 overall.
Like back in 1988, wanted them to lose last few games, to be able to get Aikman.

In which all GB needed to do was tank and lose to a decent Cardinals team, but GB played hard, and won. So we got #1, they got #2.

Agreed. It would be a sad joke if this team made the playoffs and we would just be setting ourselves up anyway to be curb-stomped by Green Bay or Seattle, who are the likely candidates for the #1 Wild Card.

Forget it.

I'd rather roll the dice in hopes of an elite player that can impose their will and overcome terrible management.

It really sucks Thursday turned out how it did, bc the rest of the East did exactly what we needed them to do to help us.

Yeah. Even if we just still had Romo back there, you could make a case for a run, and have some slim hope we could enter the playoffs playing a lot better than we played this week. Heck, we did that just last season. But with Romo out, it kind of doesn't matter. We're playing for pride here, and that always sucks.
