Babe Laufenberg, Dallas Cowboys radio color analyst and former NFL quarterback, answered your questions about the team in a chat Tuesday.
Question: What's different in Houston that made winning an available option for Brandon Weeden?
Babe Laufenberg: I think we need to tap the brakes just a bit on the resurrection of Brandon's Weeden's career. He had lost his last 10 starts. It had to happen sometime. And he has better weapons in Houston than he had here. Two words...DeAndre Hopkins. But good for Weeden.
Question: would it surprise you if Dallas went for a QB in the 1st round of the 2016 draft?
Babe Laufenberg: Nothing surprises me when it comes to this team and drafting quarterbacks. They have prioritized it less than any team in the NFL. When you can count the number of QBs drafted in the last 25 years on one hand ( and they can) that tells you all you need to know. But yes, if I am in charge of the draft, I would have you a QB by the end of the second round.
Question: What current NFL RBs might be available this offseason for Dallas to pick up?
Babe Laufenberg: We will have to wait and see on that one. But you see teams having success with guys drafted in the 3rd round or lower. Devonta Freeman was a 4th rounder for Atlanta and is going to the Pro Bowl. DeMarco Murray was a third rounder. So you don't need to go to the top of the draft to find a good running back.
