On Orlando Scandrick being peeved at not playing every down against the Rams

Barry Church: I definitely see where he's coming from. He worked hard during his suspension. He felt like he deserved to get out there. But in the same sense, he kind of brought that on himself as far as the suspension. He has nobody to blame but himself for that. When he came back and Mo was starting ahead of him, I completely agree with the coaches on that. It was his fault that he was suspended.
Really really glad to see a player making a comment like that. All the guys in the locker room need to know they are accountable for their actions.

I think what people fail to understand, is that the fact that Scandrick came back and expected to start is precisely what makes him who he is. The chip he carries around is what's taken him from "That guy that fell to the 5th round", to snatching a job from a former 6th overall pick.

Of course he deserved his punishment and of course he shouldn't have been on the field, but the fact that he had the audacity to show up and demand his job back is exactly why he got his job back.

Church is a favorite of mine he calls it like he sees it. I am really glad we have a steady Safety back there. I know he can play reckless and it causes break downs on plays but I like his style and what he brings. Now if we can pair him with a decent safety that would be great

Chuuuuuuuuuuuurrrchhhhhhh

(that double entendre tho)

Actually, it's not exactly a double entendre. A double entendre is a word/phrase with a double meaning, the more subtle meaning being more socially awkward or sexually suggestive. I went to school with a guy whose last name was "Organ," and he played an instrument. Our crazy older teacher was raving about how well he played and talked about how "masterful" Mr. Organ was with his instrument. Students in the class were cracking up, although our teacher didn't know why. That is a double entendre.

That's an interesting take and I agree with you. Landry once said the same thing about Dorsett. Some reporter asked him if he wished that Dorsett was a little less edgy and arrogant and less of a jerk sometimes. His answer was that you can't separate the attitude from the competitor, that the same edginess is what gave him the on-the-field drive.

Well put. We need more players like Scandrick. That shows that he's confident in his abilities as CB and that he knows his value to this team. If he knows that he's good and the coaches keep putting in 2nd rate talent, he should speak up and say something.

Or maybe he's been through the team's film review and he knows things we don't about the coverage last Sunday. I think it's great to hear Church making comments like these. And, I bet if you'd played them for Scandrick, he'd nod his head and agree with him.

You must be fun at parties.

And I mean that in all seriousness too. Seems as though you'd be able to hold interesting and intelligent conversations (and this is in no way a jab at the person you were quoting either) :)

This is completely unrelated to anything, but using my super elite awesome web hax0ring skillz, I just discovered that these smilies are actually derived from a single image containing others we didn't know about! My last 10.5 years on this forum have been a lie! Behold, all smilies in their full glory:
