An interesting take on Cowboys' non-interest in Mike Vick

ESPN's Chris Mortensen (@mortreport) tweeted an interesting theory regarding Jerry Jones' lack of interest in adding Mike Vick to the Valley Ranch circus. Actually, Mort had three tweets worth of thoughts on the subject:
The only reason Cowboys not in Vick derby is the commitment to "chemistry" and JJ not wanting to create more Romo scrutiny - my opinion.
JJ goes thru cycles. Ironic that Greg Ellis on block; in '98 he was Cowboys pick 'cause JJ couldn't draft R. Moss after Playmaker's follies.
If Cowboys had lived up to billing in '08, I think TO would still be there now and so would Vick and even Matt Jones.
There's no question that T.O. would be here now if the Cowboys didn't crumble down the stretch after the chemistry experiment blew up in their faces.
Mortensen's Vick/Romo theory makes sense, too. Jerry infamously declared the mission to make the team Romo-friendly. If Vick were a Cowboy -- even if he solely filled a Wildcat role -- people would debate whether he should get a shot under center every time Romo had a rough game.
"Romo is our guy," Jerry replied when asked if he had any interest in Vick.
Of course, a lot of folks would argue that Romo might benefit if he didn't feel so secure in his starting job. Jerry just isn't one of them.
