Staying on the optimistic train a little longer..

Didn't the 07 Giants look abismal the first two games? starting off 0-2 and giving up 450 yards a game.?

I think it was a little longer than that. They had a completely hideous home record that year and were completely embarrassed by the Vikings at home that year. Their road record was better by far than their home record... now hope that doesn't happen here, buuuut as everybody is pointing out, it's very early. I'll wait and reserve my judgment until December.

They started 0-2 and won 6 straight before we beat em in the Meadowlands.

Andre Gurode: It's not Tony's fault

Andre Gurode sat at his locker Monday, answering questions about what went right and wrong in Sunday's loss to New York, and he also defended his quarterback, Tony Romo.

After the game, Romo heaped the blame on himself with three interceptions that led to 21 Giants' points. It was what a quarterback does and Romo was accepting responsibility, but Gurode did not want Romo to take the full burden.

"That's completely wrong," Gurode said, "and I'm going to address that. It's not Tony's fault at all. He cannot take complete blame for a game that a team plays. We have his back. He has our back. We're not going to allow him to take full blame for this game. We're going to strand up, play well next week and hopefully get a victory."

Even though Gurode didn't think Romo should shoulder all of the blame, he said it spoke to Romo's character that he would.

"He takes a lot of things personally," Gurode said. "I know you guys don't see it from our perspective, but h e takes a lot of things he does wrong very, very hard. I can't just imagine how he felt last night when he went home. You see the guy today, pat him on the back and say, 'Hey, we're going to correct our mistakes and get better.'"

So this teams goes out and beats the likes of Carolina, KC and Denver-- big deal.
Actually, there's no guarantee will win those either. Just saying, no guarantee in the NFL.

We should beat carolina if we can stop the run.... but i also thought the same thing about the giants last week and we did stop the run. KC should be an easy one, but denver has looked good so far, especially on defense. And its not easy to play them at their house either.

It will be interesting to see what steve smith does to us on monday night. Newman has played him well in the past, but newman is struggling right now

Typical zrinkill response. You live in a dream world, don't get mad that some of us don't choose to join you. You can still be a huge Cowboy fan and recognize reality.

You think being a fan is never criticizing your team, thats just not right.

I want to believe them this time...and sometimes I do, then I think about the last several years...I think Im going to just have to wait and see, but believe me I am rooting for them.
Actually, reading your posts in this thread tells me that you're the one getting pissed because others aren't following your cries of "the sky is falling". The positive fans have every bit as much right to their opinion as the nay sayers, but according to you they live in a dream world and aren't capable of seeing "reality" unless they think like you. Thank God most fans don't have your attitude!

trouble is, we all seem to have different versions of reality.

we may both recognize a problem, but one of us may realize it's useless to whine about it while the other wants to put up billboards and whine. it's not what you recognize it's how you process/deal with it.

those ranting and raving and wondering if kitna can come in and do better - they always find something to whine about. no sense in putting thought into the game, they're a casual fan and want to yell GO TEAM for a winner.

that's their reality.

then you have the die hard fans who really get into it but are still not good "students of the game" so it's obvious to them what you need to do to win. a man that put up a $1.2bil stadium is to be laughed at for being a fool, but the suckers paying $60+ to park, well they're the ones i wonder about really.

so my reality is i realize the cowboys are still a work in progress. i realize romo isn't the brightest player to ever wear the star. and i know full well the antics of jones and companies inability to win since johnson left, sans the lucky switzer doing it with johnsons team. i know all this.

but i also know romo is starting next week. i also know he'll be fine in the long run - he's just off to a slow start but look back, that's not uncommon for him anyway. he's more a 2nd 1/2 QB. i have no stats, but that's my reality. i also am familiar with the reality that jones will not step down as GM so i see no need to banter on and on about that "reality".

and i know the cowboys will one day win again despite all the gnawing and gnashing of teeth. it may not be today, it may not be for a few more years.

but i'll let this year get close to being done before i worry about our coaches. i'll let the WR situation FINALLY play out instead of loving our bench but never wanting to see them play. i'm not gonna care of garrett is being groomed or not for HC cause in reality, i have no say in the matter so screaming about it to a lot of other people with no say in the matter as if our voice must be heard is a strange reailty to me.

so i can see the reality of the cowboys. i just don't have to be an arse about it all the time.
