Donovan McNabb: NFC East title doesn't matter if Cowboys lose Saturday

Watching the Cowboys unveil their t-shirts and caps upon winning the NFC East title Sunday didn't phase Philadelphia's Donovan McNabb.

"Not at all,'' the Eagles quarterback said. "We've got a couple of those shirts and hats before.

"Winning the NFC East, that's a goal I'm sure they had. It's a goal everyone in the NFC East had. But that doesn't mean anything right now. I'm sure they will put those shirts and hats in their lockers and focus in on the playoffs.

"You know, when it comes down to it, if you don't win this game, I don't think too many people are going to remember who won the NFC East.''

Andy Reid did not hold back

There seems to be a notion that Philadelphia held some things back Sunday against the Cowboys, knowing they would see them in the wild-card round.

I think this is completely irrational talk. Why would they have held back? If they beat the Cowboys on Sunday, they would have been the No. 2 seed and had a bye. But Andy Reid was asked if the Eagles held anything back on the conference call not too long ago. Now, later in the game when the outcome was in doubt did they scale back some? Sure. And so did the Cowboys. But to think they entered the game holding back is just ludicrous.

"Did I hold anything back?" Reid said, repeating the question. "Yeah, the comment I want to give you right now ... Now, we don't hold anything back. We ran our game plan."

McNabb is back in form.

Pointing fingers and making snide comments towards the Cowboys.

I actually remember a lot of the games McNabb lost...

2009 NFC Championship
2005 Super Bowl
2004 NFC Championship
2003 NFC Championship
2002 NFC Championship

He should get a hat for it. Oh, wait. Maybe next year.

Andy Reid's a pretty cool coach, though, I must say.

What was snide about it? He's absolutely right, and we would be saying exactly the same thing in his shoes.

McNabb always makes snide comments towards the Cowboys either before or after we play them.

Yes, he is correct that Philadelphia has NFC East Champs T-Shirts and that only Saturday matters but it is the way he says it that is very annoying.

After playing as horrible as he did Sunday, he had the nerve to point the finger at the young players  .

I agree the NFC East will not mean anything this sat. What it does represent though is just one goal that the team set out to accomplish at the start of the season. No doubt the bigger goals they had is now right in front of them.

I like Andy Reid. Screw any Philly fans wanting to get rid of him. I'd like to see him coach the Browns, he'd make them into a decent team in 3-4 years.

But Romo probably wouldn't have blamed the younger players for not stepping it up.

No we wouldn't. We would be too busy defending against the can't win the big one nonsense. Instead, we're being told that it means nothing. Right or wrong, you have to be pretty naive to not sense the arrogance in McNabb's words. If you read between the lines, he meant that the Eagles have won lots of division titles and the Cowboys haven't won jack. But based on his own logic, the Eagles haven't won jack either.

I'd like him to be in Cleveland too. Then he wouldn't be in Philly anymore helping them to be a good/great team and he wouldn't be there helping them to beat our butts so often anymore.

McNabb made a good point here despite the fact that it was his way of taking a dig at the Cowboys.

Winning the NFCE is nice. It's a goal all the teams in the division had without question.

Saturday's win is much more important.

Horse manure. Of course it meant something. Just saying we're the divisional champs means something. But the HOME game means more. Everyone knew going in that most likely the winner got the loser at home.

You can't tell me that playing these guys in a home game with a short week is not important. It sure means something to Jerry's pocket book.

There was no snide comment by mcflabb. He is right.

I won't give a rip about the division champ crap if they lose. And not one cowboys player should care either.

I hate the Eagles with a bloody passion, but I can't help but respect Andy Reid. I think he's a very good coach and was hoping the stupid Eagle fans would run him out of town. No such luck since the management just extended his contract

When the ball is kicked off no one will care that we won the NFC East. As I said I do think it is a big deal because it was something this team put out there before the season as one of their goals and through all the ups and downs of this season that got that goal accomplished. On Sat at game time though it is not going to mean that much only thing that will mean something is beating Philly.
