When Chris Canty woke up Friday, he thought he was going to visit NFC East rival Washington. He got the division right, just the wrong team.

After the Commanders canceled their visit following their agreement with Albert Haynesworth, the New York Giants came calling for a visit, which will likely happen Saturday. I stated this in an earlier post, but Canty is receiving more interest from 4-3 teams than 3-4.

He is also supposed to visit with Tennessee, Seattle and San Francisco.

UPDATE: In eight regular season games against the Giants, Canty has 30 tackles, three sacks and six quarterback pressures. He had three tackles, a sack and a pressure in the playoff loss in 2007

It would be a nice fit for Canty up there.

OT: How close do you have to be to get a "pressure"?

I wished we could figure out a way to keep him. I know he isn't a super star but he is a solid player. But the money they are asking for is stupid money.

The NYG front office isn't full of drunked sailors so the offer he gets there is likely to be one that his agent will bring back to us first... I actually think Canty may end up back here given this development.

The market is apparently letting him know he's not THAT valuable.

all those teams he's visiting... those are girls you date but not who you marry. He'll be back

The longer he's out there the better for us.

Now that the Commanders have shot their load, and I guess the Raiders have no interest, let's see how crazy an offer Canty gets.

This is interesting since it doesn't make sense to get him at DE when they've got Kiwanuka, Tuck, and Osi already playing great at the DE spots. I guess maybe they'd want him more in a DT role.

Lab - not heard about Olshansky or any update on Boller or what Grossman is up to? And i have no idea where to look. I will try the Chargers and Bears boards.

I know Shefter reported it, but I did see in a Baltimore paper that Boller was supposed to visit here. So I bet that deal gets done.

What's your opinion on Boller?

I always thought of him having a strong arm but not good accuracy (and poor judgment on the field).

But I guess he's still young and mobile.

I think he'd be a good young backup, actually. I don't know of many better options. Last year (2007) when he filled in, he did pretty well. I was impressed with how he played against that undefeated Pats team in a windy stadium.

i wouldnt have any problem with him or grossman...etc..

those young guys with experience who need to rebuild their career seems like a great fit.

Just like buerlein, peete, kosar once upon a time...although kosar was 100 at the time.

But considering we should draft a qb to groom as the 3, a guy like boller for two years would seemingly be a nice fit. What he did in baltimore wont matter.

He played a good game vs. the Pats. I thought they should have won that game, in fact!

I know. It's annoying because he's a good, young player who is the kind of guy that just does his job well. You don't have to worry about him. I pray he doesn't go to the NYG.

That's what I'm reading in NY, they want him at DT.
