I know there was concern with Parcells that his camps were so rough, that players wore down in the twilight of the season.

If these camps are harder, isn't that a serious cause for concern?

It's stuff like this that makes me how fickle some human personalities are.

It's like girls. One minute they think and want one thing, the next they want something else.

People cry and whine that Wade Phillips is too soft and nice, even though it was clear he loves this team, and wanted nothing more than to win.

Now he gets tougher, and people cry because he is going to break the team down ala Parcells.

Get a hold of your emotions. I'm not singleing you out, you just happened to be the one who's post I saw.

Yeah, everyone in here is a homer. That's all we allow.

Somebody change the record the sad song is over and the dance was boring.

For all of Wade's toughness, his team lost by the second biggest margin last week, and Oakland was the only team to score more than 27 points.

I don't even know why we should go on. It is obvious that this season is a complete wash. Going undefeated in the preseason is so vital for our championship hopes, just look at superbowl runs of the 90s.

I don't care how bad a team is, if the coaches want to beat the other team in preseason they can. Because most coaches go into the game to evaluate individuals.

I think we will see a better defense this year, one that has more takeaways like they should have last year. As long as the offense does their part it will be a good year.

Most people joke about people that hold opinions like this.

It can be a jolt when you realize these people really do exist.

I am actually becoming desensitized to it. A steady dose of DMN and Dallascowboys.com mailbags will do that to you.

Until players on this team start fearing for their starting spots or their jobs, it's all just window dressing.

Parcells hard is different from this. Parcells probably made it to the point that players didn't want to play football or practice - I think Phillips' demanding style has been maybe a more attention-to-detail style of coaching, and to really get the players to focus in on winning, not just beating them down.

since when has fearing for your job been a way to gauge the ability of a team to get it done on the field?

If you're out there too busy thinking about your job instead of executing your assignment, seems to me that's counter-productive.

It's more of a knowing there are consequences for not playing well kind of thing. We've got a bunch of guys on this team who have collapsed in December for the last 3-4 years. What do they care? They still have their jobs, still get paid millions, still get to come back next year and try it again. No worries.
