I don't even know why we should go on. It is obvious that this season is a complete wash. Going undefeated in the preseason is so vital for our championship hopes, just look at superbowl runs of the 90s.

The point was, the team didn't play tough football. They adopted the coach's attitude, and played like they didn't care.

Everything is a cause for concern. Too soft, too stringent, too hot, too cushy, too far away, too close. The beat goes on.

I know and we should fire them all! Afterwards, we should go to their family's job and fire them. Then when their children is of age, you guessed it we should fire them too. But there is more, we should fire every one that even look like any of the coaches. This must be nipped in the bud!

Yeah, a slew of injuries had NOTHING to do with any of last seasons issues did it?

It's more of a knowing there are consequences for not playing well kind of thing. We've got a bunch of guys on this team who have collapsed in December for the last 3-4 years. What do they care? They still have their jobs, still get paid millions, still get to come back next year and try it again. No worries.

They've been collapsing for the last decade. They did it under Campo. They did it under Parcells too.

Consequences for not playing well is a loss. That is more than enough to motivate a professional football player despite you wanting to fire them for some obtuse nebulous reason. Guess we should have fired Demarcus for not getting a sack in the last game. Same with Hamlin, Spencer, Brady James, Terrence Newman, Romo, MB3, Felix, etc. They've all had a bad game yet get to collect their checks.

But what do we know? You're the guy holding the PhD in sports psychology.

For all of Wade's toughness, his team lost by the second biggest margin last week, and Oakland was the only team to score more than 27 points.

Wow, I bet there's 30 yrs or so correlation between losing a meaningless preseason opener by a lopsided margin in scrubeenie time and winning a championship later that yr.

Cant wait for the next ingenius post!

Parcells didnt push the players to the point of injury. He wasnt a push over and made them work hard there is a difference. He turned the dallas Cowboys around. Now his influence in the playcalling and sticking with older players was our doom IMO. He had a old school style and that only went so far.

Yes, he did.

Parcells went on record many a time and said if you aren't healthy enough to practice, you aren't healthy enough to play. That's telling a player right there that your injuries don't matter even though sitting out a practice or two could improve your game day performance.

Slightly pulled hammy? Too bad you practice or you don't play. Is that nagging injury going to continue to affect you on Sunday? Of course it is.

Yet another reason I have no respect for the job 34-32 did while he was with us.

Didn't the Giants and Patriots both go 0-4 in the preseason and won the Super Bowl?

Pittsburgh was 3-1

new Jersey was 1-3

Indy was 1-3

Cheatriots were 2-2 (2005)

Detriot was 4-0 in 2008. They're on a 5 game preseason winning streak and a 0-17 regular losing streak.

It does not matter if fans see a difference and believe in what Wade is doing it only matter that the player do.

I'm not sure if i have very much faith in Wade as an HC but i loved his daddy and i really like Wade as a person so there's no one i'd like to see succeed more than him. Of course i want to see my team win another ring but it would sure be nice if Wade caps his career with a ring.

since when has fearing for your job been a way to gauge the ability of a team to get it done on the field?

If you're out there too busy thinking about your job instead of executing your assignment, seems to me that's counter-productive.
If you thought your job was at stake wouldnt you focus more and give a better effort?

Seems to me like sometimes players need a kick in the butt to wake up. Last two years this team has been way to relaxed and nobody had accountability.

That probably wouldn't sting so much if it weren't so true.

I understand you to some degree but in most cases players should know their limits and if they want to play but cant practice, then that means they were never ready to play in the first place.

The cutting of TO, didn't give the kick in the butt?

All players know that in the NFL your contract is not guaranteed, if you don't perform, you don't have a job.

In the end, it comes down to the players, if they don't care there is nothing that a coach can do, including cutting someone, that will motivate the players. Coaches can motivate players with good pregame speeches and the like maybe a couple of times a year, if you are expecting the coach to get the players fired up every game, you are way off base, it simply will not happen, and that is NOT the coaches fault, that is the players fault.

Will the coach end up getting fired, absolutely. Because fans always want to blame the coach first. But, in the end it will not matter till the players change as well.

I agree rah rah speeches lose their luster over 16 weeks, players have a responsibility to get themselves prepared both mentally and physically for a game. Coaches share in this but in the end it is the player more than anything else. As they say you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.
