Brady hasn't fared well vs. Phillips 3-4

Wade Phillips doesn't think his previous encounters with Patriots QB Tom Brady mean anything this week. Phillips is quick to point out that the Cowboys have different personnel than the Chargers, so he's altered his scheme.

But Brady has not performed particularly well against the Phillips 3-4. A look at Brady's games against the Chargers the last two seasons:

San Diego 41, Patriots 17 (Oct. 2, 2005) -- Brady completed 19 or 32 passes for 224 yards with one TD and one INT in a blowout that snapped the Patriots' 21-game home winning streak. New England had only two first downs in the second half.

Patriots 24, Chargers 21 (Jan. 7, 2007) -- Brady struggled most of the playoff game, completing 27 of 51 passes and getting picked off three times. But he made enough plays to win, passing for 280 yards and three TDs. Marlon McCree's interception probably would have sealed the win for San Diego, but the Patriots got new life by forcing a fumble on the return. Brady took advantage by throwing a TD pass and setting up the game-winning field goal with a deep ball to Reche Caldwell on the next possession.

Yeah but... that 2nd game could have very well been a loss too... IF the Interceptor didnt fumble the ball back.... Wade and defense=Mission Accomplished=TWICE

Maybe Wade has got a little mastery... wizardry for Brady... hmmmmm.......?

Wade's D also had a juiced up OLB, which we don't have....

Edit: I guess we got a 'juiced' up QB coach returning though.

I warn everyone right now that if we win this game and play well on defense, I'm going to wear everyone out claiming that Wade is underrated and deserves much more credit than he's gotten so far... :D

But I've been informed that there's no chance of that happening. Those Pats teams before didn't have Randy Moss [/hushed and frightened tone].

I'm already convinced he's underrated by everyone who doesn't know much about him. That included me until this season.

I really think Anthony Spencer and Greg Ellis will help out D-Ware! Does anyone else think Bradie James is playing at a Pro Bowl level, I mean the guy is destroying follks!

Personally I am more worried about the pats pounding the ball inside with sammy morris and then when the linebackers start going forward throwing it right over the top of their head to welker and watson and sustaining long drives.

i am pretty confident they will find a way to slow randy moss.

i would imagine roy williams is going to have to be really good this week.

I'm in that boat. But really, it's going to be either he has a great week or he has an absolute disasterous week. I'm going to be having nightmares of him chasing a blazing Randy Moss to the endzone and then a confused look. He needs to come out and be the Roy Williams who strikes fear in the hearts of those crossing the middle (not that Moss does that, but still).
