Scout.com projects Cowboys-Dolphins trade!!!

But maybe not the one you had in mind.

Chris Steuber, writing for Scout.com at FOXSports.com, doesn't have this one involving a move up for Dallas. Rather, it's a move down, with Dallas dealing the 22nd overall pick to Miami for the Dolphins' second- and third-round picks. That would essentially mean the Cowboys would pick up the 65th overall pick for moving down 11 slots.

Here's the rundown on 22 and 28 from Steuber, with Timmy Tabloid getting his just-plain-dumb wish of Dallas collecting Big 12 talent by taking Jamaal Charles way too early.
22) DOLPHINS (Proj. trade w/Dallas) -- Louisville QB Brian Brohm: In a move reminiscent of what the Cleveland Browns did last year to get Brady Quinn, the Miami Dolphins target Brian Brohm and sneak back into the first round to draft him. Bill Parcells uses his ties with the Cowboys and trades his second- and third-round picks (33rd and 65th overall) to move up and steal Brohm as his future signal caller.

28) COWBOYS -- Texas RB Jamaal Charles: The Cowboys will look to add a weapon on offense with this pick after trading away their first pick to Miami. There are two promising RBs and WRs on the board, and Dallas will decide which one fits best. In a surprise move, the Cowboys pass up Felix Jones for Jamaal Charles.

My brain registered "projects" as "reports" and then saw the exclamation points and I about half-freaked out.

In other notes...that would be a horrifying start to our draft.

Ugh, what a wretched first round! This guy must hate the Cowboys in his off-time.

No thanks......trade #28 if we are going trade one of them

yeah agreed, I would much rather them trade #28 but it's going to depend on how the draft unfolds. If there are still 3-5 players the Boys were planning on taking at #22 and they believe they will be there at #28, then i can see them trading down from the spot and still take one of the players at #28.

I wouldn't mind trading with Miami, they can give us their next years 1st, and I know Cleveland was supposed to suck, but I'm quite certain Miami will suck.

But being serious, I don't like trading down for more picks, we don't need that many players, that probably won't make the squad.

A second and third for a first? Come on....

It's a high 2nd and third. Depending on how the cowboys have their draft board set up, they might have as little as 15 to as much as 30 actual players talented enough to be 1st round selections.

If they see this as a benefit, and have no clear plan or exact pick at that time, I don't have a problem with it.

Just like Buffalo and Cleveland did after we traded with them? :bang2:

If anything Jerry will be moving up not down. This draft is about quality not quantity.

No, he's just stupid.

Gotta love how Parcells is going to "steal" Brohm with our pick, though.

Miami also owns pick #58 in the 2nd rd due to the Chambers trade to San Diego I would much rather trade for that pick

pick #22 for picks 33 and 58

We'd own 28, 33, 58, 62 and 93 in the first 3 rds.

Would rather due #28 for #33 and #58.

Screw this. Don't trade.

Stay put and freaking take the players. Don't outsmart yourself Jerry.

What's even dumber is that the Dolphins can probably stay where they are and take Brohm as the 1st pick in the 2nd round.

why would you want to pass up one of the top cb's in this draft to get an extra 3rd rnd pick?
we need quality, not quanity

I would do that, but I don't think the Dolphins are dumb enough to trade a second rounder to move up five spots late in the first round.

i would only trade the 28th but that might not make sense for the dolphins. in any case, as much as i like jar jar charles, i wouldnt touch him until the late 2nd or early 3rd round. first pick needs to be one of the top 5 corners. the second first pound pick should be another top 5 corner if he is still available or the best wide receiver who is deserving of a first round selection. 2nd round should be the best running back available, hopefully chris johnson, if not, ray rice, jar jar charles or kevin smith, although i think you could pick up kevin smith in the 3rd but why risk it.
