Nate Newton was on 103.3 today and he said he talked to Bigg yesterday when he was doing the old alternate hot/cold treatment on his ankle. He said the first 48 hours are critical -- if you're diligent in the heat/cold treatment the first two days, it'll limit the swelling and make a big difference in your recovery time.

RE: cold/heat therapy: It sure as heck does speed healing, and boy is it torturous too!

OK, so now taunting is a fine also? The NFL is getting so over the top w/ fines and penalties. Why not fine Jacobs for running his mouth during the week? That'll probably be in the rule book next year.

...after the rash of "throat slashing" taunts of a bunch of years back. It was an obscene gesture that is out of bounds for adults to display on public television and Tagliabue put an immediate stop to it.

I believe the NFL does have a point about public displays of taunting given the amount of young individuals who watch their telecasts.

I'm not surprised, I would doubt he would practice after spraining it just yesterday. I still hope he can play on Sun.
I'd be surprised, if Bigg plays this Sunday. I think WP will sit him down this game, just a hunch.

Yeah, it'll be a penalty against the Cowboys for listening!

I'm ok with him being fined. It should have been by Phillips not the NFL though.

I seem to recall that the team doesn't anounce fines imposed internally on the players so he may have been.

Haley spilling the beans on a team fine on TO is part of what soured that relationship.

He seemed to think Leonard would be fine, and even said he was looking forward to seeing Procter. He said the second Bigg got hurt, Sparano was immediately all over preparing Procter to play. Nate said you hate to ever see injuries, but he thought it was good for a young guy like Procter to get a chance to show what he could do.

I'm as big of a Procter fan as there is, but I'd much rather Davis is healthy and out there.

I think Procter could be Kosier II.

So Kev has been the only person fined this year for taunting, hard for me to believe he is the only player to taunt someone this year....can u say Cowboy Bias at it's highest form.....

You have players getting away with cheap shots that can actually cause serious injuries, and they fine someone $5,000 for taunting. How bout they fine Brandon Jacobs for talking alot of smack before the game, and crying during the post-game interviews. :bang2:

:laugh2: I always thought it was just killing the nerves around the ankle area so you don't feel anything anymore:laugh1:

The league is going to go after someone taunting but not bother getting Madison for intentionally kneeing Owens in the head?

Guess the Refs went blind when that happened.

Partially because he played at Montana.

He started 47 games in college and played a variety of positions (RT, LT, G). He's mobile and versatile.

Like I said, I'd far prefer to see Davis starting, but I think Procter could eventually be a starting guard in the league with a similar skill set to someone like Kosier. Or he remains a valuable game day reserve.
