Carolina No. 1 wide receiver Steve Smith won't be in awe of the new Cowboys Stadium on Monday night against the Cowboys.

He said this week that he's already been in the stadium. He said he was there in June to shoot a commercial for Samsung.

His thoughts on the stadium?

"Interesting. Very interesting," Smith said.
And the $40 million, 60-yard long HD video board that hangs above the field?

"I think for the opposing fans, like the Panthers fans who will be there, the team's family, players who will be there, they put them generally in the nose bleed back corner," Smith said. "You won't be able to see the other [side of the] field through those big screens."

Has that been a problem for any of you Cowboys fans at the new stadium?

Carolina will have a makeshift lineup against the Cowboys on Monday night because of several injuries to some of the Panthers' top players, according to a report from The Associated Press.

From the story:
Carolina linebacker Na'il Diggs was declared out of Monday night's game after missing his third straight practice Saturday with bruised ribs. Starting strong safety Chris Harris, top fullback Brad Hoover and defensive end Everette Brown also sat out the workout and are listed as doubtful. The only good news for Carolina in its lengthy injury report was defensive tackle Nick Hayden practiced and is listed as probable.

In the 400 leel seat shots that Danny White posted I thought you could see the whole field quite easily. The video board doesn't seem to eliminate that view at all. You don't see the fans on the other side of the stadium, but that's the least interesting thing to see.

I don't think there's any place in the stadium where the video board blocks view of the field.

The guy's an idiot.

Yeah, you know damn well Steve Smith didn't go up to the nosebleeds and look for himself. He's just guessing.

Hey guys, now that I think about it... Do you think it's low enough that a punt might hit it?

Exactly. It doesn't even come close to blocking any of the field or sidelines. The only thing that it kept me from seeing that I wanted to see was the Ring of Honor.

Does this guy sound jealous or what? It's hard to believe that grown men give a damn about another team having a better stadium (by most accounts it is), but after listening to some of the Giants and now this Smith guy, I guess they do.
