Here's an update on Michael Irvin's "So You Wanna Be a Cowboy" show scheduled to air on Spike TV come spring. You remember, the winner gets a roster spot at training camp in San Antonio. He'll be the 80th man.

Action: The show finally has a name: 4th and Long
Reaction: C+ The Longest Yards would be better. So You Wanna Be a Cowboy would be best.

Action: The 12 wannabes will train and live in the Cotton Bowl.
Reaction: A- Nothing says Dallas like the Cotton Bowl. Hope those locker rooms are neat and spiffy and the circus will be far, far away from Valley Ranch.

Action: Bill Bates and Joe Avezzano have been cast as coaches
Reaction: B+ Bill Parcells and Deion Sanders must have had previous commitments.

This is interesting on 2 levels.

1) Mike obviously didn't have any race-related beef with these super pasty white guys:) ((fwiw I am merely pasty white not super pasty white))

2) It is pretty clear Mike (and by extension Jerry) intends this position to be a TAMU Ag 12th man type guy. Special Teams is the biggest focus.

I'm sure I'll tune in for a show or two if it can hold my interest long enough.
