When the Cowboys run
Marion Barber (toe) went through individual drills this week, but his playing status was iffy late in the week. The Cowboys shouldn't hesitate to lean on Tashard Choice again. The Steelers had the No. 1 run defense. The Giants are fifth.

When the Cowboys pass
Jason Witten may have slipped a little, but Romo overthrew his receivers all day long in Pittsburgh. The Giants know Romo's tendencies since they've seen him multiple times. It'll be tough to fool defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo.

When the Giants run
Bradie James and Jay Ratliff are having Pro Bowl-caliber seasons. Zach Thomas is having a solid year, too. Those three two in the middle of the 3-4 defense are a big reason why the Cowboys have stiffened against the run.

When the Giants pass
Losing Plaxico Burress didn't cripple the Giants' passing game. Steve Smith, Amani Toomer and Domenik Hixon have caught 10 touchdown passes combined. Kevin Boss (5 touchdown catches) has quietly developed into a solid tight end.
EDGE: Giants
Special teams
Hixon, who has foot/ankle issues, helps the Giants tilt field position by averaging 10.1 yards per punt return. A huge return by Santonio Holmes turned the field around for the Steelers last week. Miles Austin could return kicks if he's healthy.
EDGE: Giants
Intangibles
This is a no-brainer. The Cowboys have every reason imaginable to put their best foot forward. Win and you stay in the playoff hunt. Lose and you have to start watching the out-of-town scoreboard with your fingers crossed the right teams lose.
