Martellus Bennett was on twitter this morning. Here's what he had to say about the criticism he's been getting the last few days. It was several different tweets, so here they are:

Life is to short to fall victim to the judgement of others live life for God and urself. Despite all nay sayers I'm still living life to the
Fullest. Errbody wants to cast stones and etc but they better check my history. It's only chicken if 2 individuals playing around eating

Chicken n drinkin a certain type of beverage is settin a culture bak single handly how strong was it actually. Or is it other insecurities

Of the same culture that is bothering em. Err person is like he's exposing our culture in front of the "white folk" how racist is that. Come

On. Far from a racist or a self hater I embrace my culture to the fullest n am not ashamed of it. I understand wat went on in the past I

Have mad respect for those who fought for errthing that we have now. But times change I grew up n a diff generation, have experienced racism

Hell yea I have and we all will despite who does what. Comedians actors etc make fun of their own race all the time but when I do it it's

But I really wish someone would just completely obliterate Twitter and everything associated with it. I seriously don't understand how something someone posts online can be used as fodder for news.

Can you imagine if news articles were made out of some of the posts on this site? :laugh2:

i like marty and defended him last time he got in trouble but this i cant defend. he made a fool out of himself especially in the eyes of the black community wether he realizes it or not. he says he understands what went on in the past but no one who truly does would make a video like he did. it was just pure ignorance and a slap in the face to all those who paved the way for blacks in this country. total disresepct to those blacks who had to endure stereo types and racial taunts. i really hope this dude grows up

apart from doing anything actually punishable, Martellus Bennett just needs to not give a **** what morons in the "general public" think. at the end of the day, opinions of the morons in the "general public" mean jack **** and he's not here to cater to what the "general public" deems worthy of comedy or not.

I like where he's coming from.

He's moved past the racial dividers and is confident enough to have fun with it.

Race jokes have existed forever and I think it's better to laugh about stereotypes than to get mad and cause even more problems.

As long as people let things like this have power over them, they'll never truly get over the mistakes of the past.

Just my opinion anyway.

Why are you laughing? JJT of the DMN does it all the time. This board is where he gets all of his ideas for new stories. Except that by the time we're all done discussing a certain issue, right when JJT comes out with an article about it, we've all moved on to other sets of issues.
