We just watched the first 20 minutes or so of Cowboys practice, and running back Marion Barber was practicing.

Barber was catching passes and moving around in a light jog. Nothing full speed, but practice was still early.

Barber strained his left quadriceps in Sunday's loss to New York. He's questionable for Monday night's game against Carolina. He said he wants to play.

Asked before practice if it was good news, Barber said, "I can't complain. It's great news."

For the second straight week left tackle Flozell Adams has been fined for an on-field infraction by the NFL.

Adams was fined $12,500 for tripping New York defensive end Justin Tuck in Sunday's loss to the Giants. Tuck suffered a shoulder injury on the play and did not return.

Adams was fined $5,000 for an in unnecessary roughness penalty in the opener at Tampa Bay.

That fine is totally justified, IMO.

He tried that nonsense twice.

Not good Flo.

A fine for tripping, you gotta be kidding me.Might as well start keeping the players on the sideline and let the coaches play the game on a playstation.

How is tripping a fine but not a horse-collar?

Flo didn't trip him to be malicious, he did it to keep the play alive. Players shouldn't get fined if they aren't trying to hurt somebody

If he's so unathletic at this point of his career that he has to trip to be effective he needs to be playing playstation not on the field.

Not good Flo.

It's better than Tony getting hurt. And that's just a drop in the bucket for Flo. We'll be fine. Just protect the QB at all times. That's his job, IMO.

Absolutely. The hate on Flo is a bit much. He wasn't being super viscous (not cut blocking like good old Big E). In both plays Flo was trying to do something productive. The "punch" was a bit stupid out of impulse, but he was trying to contribute and wasn't just standing around. The trip, well, Flo got beat, and wanted to protect Romo, which I'm fine with. That is his job.

Flo didn't give up another qb hit or a sack if I remember in that game. He was opening up huge holes in running game, and stoning his guys a lot!

I would bet there are only about 5 teams that wouldn't add him as a tackle on their team if he wasn't on ours. They'd do it in a heartbeat.

And shouldn't the guy on the Gints who got called for a leg-whip get fined?

I always thought leg whips were more dangerous.

the giants should be getting two fines today also, they had two blatant horse collars.

and seeing that Tom Coughlin used to preach about how danderous it was and how dangerous roy williams was I am assuming he will suspend those players.....or no?

they should REALLY rest Barber. I have had a strained quad....there is no way he is close to being ready to play. If we cannot beat these sorry teams we have coming up with Choice and Jones...then we are not any good to begin with. If you rest Barber and let him fully heal...you will have him when you need him the MOST. If you try to squeeze 10 carries out of him and he is just sputtering along for a couple of weeks, this could linger all year. We are DEEP at RB...every last one of these RBs could start in the NFL somehwere....I say rest him

Not coming after you but I doubt when you suffered your strain you had been conditioning your body to compete in a 16 game NFL season with professional weight and conditioning coaches and medical staff.

I always get a kick out of people when they compare their injuries to pro athletes.

With that said, i do agee he needs to rest and with KC and DENV coming up I would have no problem with him sitting out the next 3 weeks.

I agree. Flo blew his block on Tuck, but he didn't allow Romo to get flattened because of it. Other than that, the entire line has been a beast in the running game and solid in pass protection.
