For the first time since the collapse of the indoor facility, the Cowboys are practicing at their Valley Ranch facility.

The Cowboys held their organized team activities and minicamp at Standridge Stadium in Carrollton while the site of the collapse was investigated and cleared. A black fence now stands between the practice fields, which had to be re-sodded because of debris, and the area where the indoor facility used to be.

After holding training camp in the Alamodome, this was the first time the Cowboys practiced in the heat. It was 96 degrees at the beginning of the Monday afternoon practice, which was open to the media for only the first 25 minutes, which will be standard operating procedure the rest of the season.

"That's the trade-off," Bradie James said. "We get to sleep in our own beds. The heat won't be too bad."

Finally... I've been wondering about this.

And sorry, Tampa, but the heat won't be any advantage the first game of the year.

Picture of where the indoor facility used to be

We were allowed on the Cowboys practice field for the first time since the collapse of the indoor practice facility. It's definitely a different place. The fields were resodded. The running track is gone. And so to is the indoor facility. Here is a picture of where the indoor facility used to be before the tragic collapse.
