You wait and see...after Jones makes him the richest defensive player in the league history (and very deservedly so) the first quarter of a game that goes by where he doesnt get a sack, there will be some clown/s claiming he was a waste of money, didnt deserve it, Jones was stupid etc etc

If Ware becomes one of the top paid defensive players in the league, why exactly would it be wrong for people to expect him to keep performing like he has been?

No one will say jack about a bad game or two, but there's nothing wrong with expecting top notch performance from someone paid top notch money.

If the old man is wearing Cowboys gear while I'm watching a game with him, he'll take it off if the team starts losing badly. He'll take off a hat and set it beside him or change his shirt during a time out or commercial. That's also when he might apply the "scrotum hex". This consists of grabbing the pair in one hand and facing the other open-palmed towards the TV, while intoning; "scrotuuuuuuuum hex!" while the other team is in position to score. That one he'll only pull out a couple times a year. Legend says the more a man uses it the less powerful it gets over time.

I decided I had to stop posting in the "Hatred" threads before every game here in the forum. I think every time I posted in one of those this season we lost the game that weekend. Including the Rams and Pittsburgh. Two particularly bad loses for me personally this year.

Two things: first, see my response above. Second, if that doesn't convince you, pop an old tape of the Cowboys-Eagles in 1991, the game Kelvin Martin takes the punt return back for a touchdown. After that, you will understand.

However, failing that, you might want to watch the Sports Illustrated 1993 year in review tape, where you can hear the infamous 'Lucky Charms' quote.

Finally, for good measure, watch Cowboys-Giants in 1991, home to the greatest interception of all time.

Oh trust me I know, but I haven't seen anyone stupid enough to say Ware is a waste of money because of one game. Witten had a bad game or two this year, and everyone loves him still... except for the maroon that said trade him.... maybe you're right.

Begs an interesting question:

Which is more likely next season: Ware sets the single-season sack record or the Cowboys win a playoff game.

Can't give you odds on Ware breaking it, but I beleive the record itself has been broken at least twice in the past 12 years, so you do the math.

The sad thing is, if he gets "only" 16 sacks or so next season, people will consider it a down season.

Lawrence Taylor got at least 16 sacks only one time in his career. Same with Derrick Thomas. If Ware does it again, that will be a tremendous season. Expecting him to get 20 again is a bit much.

But it wouldn't surprise me if he did.

Im glad its so important for him to break the record. Thats the one thing we haven't achieved in 10 years. We've won everything, every award, but the sack record is the only thing we havent broken yet.

Wow 26 sacks???? Mannn that would have guaranteed DPOY, I think he'll reach 20+ next year as well. The guy is amazing, he'll only get better. Dallas needs 52 more player like him!
