While Marion Barber said he wants to play Monday vs. Carolina, there's still a question of his availability. If he can't play, Felix Jones would be the workhorse with Tashard Choice.

Through two games, Jones is averaging 9.1 yards per carry with 118 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown. He was slowed in the opener at Tampa Bay because of a quad injury but did not look like it slowed him down vs. the Giants (96 yards).

"I believe [the running game] can be the same," Jones said. "The offensive line did a great job. They created holes for us to run through. We just need to go out and play hard and keep doing what we're doing and keep moving the ball."

I would expect Jones to be limited as a kick returner if Barber cannot play, which would give Miles Austin more work on special teams.

Choice will sub for MBIII... Felix will pick up a few more carries.

Look for Choice to run like his hair is on fire the next game or 2. That dude wants to show everyone how much of a balla he is.

I want to see one game where Felix gets like 15-17 carries. He'd have 150+ yards every time because you know out of those 15-17 times he carries it there will be a 50 yard run.

if Jones gets 30 carries he'll have almost 300 yards--why not 40 carries?;)

I agree. I don't see Felix as fragile he has shown the ability to run inside and outside the tackles. He is 6'0 218 which is bigger than Choice.

Choice got us 2 first downs on 2 decent plays in the Giants game.

He ran like a tank on that one, and made a smart play on the catch.

Didn't realize he had the power he showed on dragging the tacklers for that 1st down run.

Choice is a pretty decent all-round player. In a year or two this team might be faced with trading him or Barber, to try and shore up other weaker positions.

We are fortunate to have 3 RB's with all their talents AND great attitudes.

I wouldn't be surprised if they go with both equally until they see which back has the hot hand. Just my hunch, but I hope they're thinking like that.

I hope we keep the trio of Tash, Dash and Smash. I'd hate to see one of them traded because if one back gets hurt then we won't have 3 fresh backs. I like the idea of having fresh legs for the running game and I don't see a reason to trade a RB because we likely won't get much in a trade since RBs are sort of easy to find. JMO

Doesn't Felix always have a hot hand (or foot)? :)

Well it is something Dallas will not have to deal with for a couple more years.

It seems that way. And after further thought, he's the player we need most late in the season. If he gets hurt, I'm going to cry.

Thanks goodness. I don't know the dynamics of a possible trade scenario. So if you can explain why it won't happen, I'd appreciate it. I just don't think it's a good idea at this point. I think we can utilize different backs against different teams based on the opposing defense. Those with a weak middle we play Smash and those with weak outside, we play Dash. And I think Choice is who we use when we choose to rest their legs.

Felix Jones is a beast...Love the way He runs.

What I love about him is, everyone thought his 8.x yards per carry last year was outrageous. He is averaging 9.x this season! :lmao2:

I don't want to trade any of our trio either, BUT I can see the team pulling the trigger if the right scenario came along. Unfortunately, if we can get a starter at a very weak position, or a high draft pick where we can address a hole with top notch talent, then I can see the team doing a trade. It comes down to how many touches does the guy get or do we need him for, versus what the other option is.

I love all 3 of our backs, we just seem to have some needs that if they don't clear up might force our hand.

That's a freaking scary stat. The dude is the most dangerous back I've ever seen in my lifetime of watching football, more dangerous than Barry Sanders. He won't get as many carries, but his average will trump Sanders' any day.
