Burger King and Fox have apologized for a cartoon skit that aired during Fox's NFL Sunday on Oct. 11 that had cartoon Dallas Cowboys mocking Jessica Simpson for her supposed weight gain.

In the commercial, the cartoon version of Marion Barber says, "Man, I still can't believe Tony dated Jessica Simpson, even after she blew up bigger than Flozell Adams!"

The cartoon version of Jason Witten says, "Unlike Tony, at least Jessica comes up big when it counts!"

And cartoon coach Wade Phillips adds, "Say Tony, is Jessica around? We could use a defensive tackle!"

Fox issued a statement saying, ``Burger King did not have any editorial input in the creation of the animation that ran last Sunday, and no one from Burger King Corp. approved it before it aired. Upon reflection, our poor attempt at humor was insensitive and we deeply apologize to anyone who might have been offended.''

Romo was unavailable for comment on Wednesday.

I give them a big middle finger, unless they are going to do this to every team.

As soon as I see one with Andy reid's kids shoving heroin in their crack's., vick killing dogs and the players making fun of mcnabb's fat mom who is an attention fiend herself....

then I say up yours. There was absolutely no need for this, it had nothing to do with the game and nothing to do with this current team.

Again I could never be a pro athlete, and if I was I would have to play for a parcells-belichick type cause I would never talk to anyone at espn or fox. I would laugh in their face like marion barber every week.

Wow. It's pathetic how people on TV have no accountibility. Whoever made that should lose their job.

Oh they will likely find someone to fire over it but it won't be anyone that high up in the chain some scape goat will be named and lose his/her job over it

The cartoon itself is just stupid and the concept moronic not to mention completely biased as theebs was saying theres no way any other team would be subjected to this kind of horse **** so what reason other than a bias against dallas would you even concider let alone go through with running it

They crossed a HUGE line with this cartoon

Romo wasn't available for comment? Jessica is in his past, which makes the cartoon that much more stupid. He shouldn't comment on it, anyway.

It's just not that serious!

[ON TOPIC]

Even though the bit was very unfunny and I didn't get offended, when I first saw it, I thought, "Was this on Fox"?

Jessica Simpson isn't even dating Tony Romo and I don't understand why they had to make fun of her weight.

This official response was to be expected. As I said Sunday, the cartoons (not just about the Cowboys, but for all five episodes) are typical examples of FOX shock programming. First they put it out and then they apologize afterwards. Typical FOX network modus operandi.

There won't be any reprecussions for them. The way they look at it is they will be getting more publicity.

I only watch the NFL Network pregame show anyway.

thats my point. If it is all in fun and we are supposed to laugh.

I fully expect the eagles installment next week. Cant wait to see a big fat Andy Reid cartoon character chasing his heroin dealing scumbag kids around, vick killing dogs in the locker room and mcnabb and his mom begging guys on the team to be in a soup commercial with them.

While they all make fun of mcnabb for puking in crunch time of the superbowl, throwing the game clinching interception during the nfc championship game and final game at the vet and not knowing that a game can end in a TIE.

wont it be funny, cant you see it now, vick strangling a dog while cracking a joke like " and they say I am just a coach killer" and reid's scumbag kids yelling at mcnabb for puking away there fathers superbowl trophy.

I cant wait to see it. If they are in the business of funny and taking personal shots randomly, they will do one for every team. If not they have some explaining to do.

:laugh2: You should be a writer for that Commanders website that makes the funny cartoons.

:hammer:

I've dealt with the local press from my collegiate athletic days. Almost all of them were good guys, the only problem I had was one guy kept quoting me despite the fact that he NEVER talked to me, not once.

If I was a Dallas Cowboys player, I'd probably refuse to ever speak to the media outside of Todd Archer just because I'd be legitimately afraid of wanting to inflict physical violence on most of these jabrones.

Even if they are broken up, I'd be furious if I was Romo, particularly since he's been more than open with just about every media outlet and media source there is. Thanks for nothing.

It's fox, you'd have to be a pathetic human being to watch that network.

You are confusing Fox with Fox News...
