Settling in at Texas Stadium
The Cowboys handed out 166 media credentials for tonight's game. I was one of the first to arrive in the press box, primarily because I didn't want to deal with traffic or stick around the office and give my boss the chance to give me more work.
A side benefit of being here early: I got to test out a few folding chairs before settling on one sturdy enough to hold a 6-4, 233-pound blogging machine for eight hours. We usually get more comfy swivel chairs, but they Cowboys had to go with the cheapos to squeeze in everybody for the NFC regular season championship game.
Don't tell Albert "Einstein" Breer, but I put an especially flimsy chair in his spot. Crossing my fingers that it'll collapse when he takes his seat.

Texans can't fool Northeasterners
Tim MacMahon had this stupid grin on his face before I took my seat here at Texas Stadium. He wasn't fooling anyone, let alone someone with the kind of savvy growing up in the Northeast brings. That seat now belongs to Calvin "Lucky" Watkins.
Anyway, my walk into the stadium was interesting. First of all, the parking lots are filling up earlier than normal. And I'd say that's because of tailgating-crazy Packer fans.
It probably wasn't a 50-50 split between Cowboy and Packer fans out there. But it was close, much closer, I'd say, than it should've been.

It won't look like this when the game starts ...
But this place has a Lambeau feel to it. Going through the sparse crowd, the Packer fans clearly outnumber the Cowboys backers. Lots of cheeseheads, lots of 4s, and not a lot of stars. For now, at least.
The Packers are also the ones getting the early warmups in. There are about a dozen of them on the field. It's Aaron Rodgers, not Brett Favre, leading the passing lines out there.
