Harris not obsessed with T.O. anymore
Let's make this clear: No one guy can cover Terrell Owens man-to-man for 60 minutes. It just doesn't happen.
Credit CB Al Harris for learning his lesson from a 2004 showdown with T.O., as Tom Silverstein reports in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. That day, Harris says he got so caught up in trying to take the Eagles star out of the game, that he lost sight of what the team was trying to get done. And it's not like Harris did that anyway, yielding eight catches for 161 yards and a touchdown.
"I was loony," Harris said. "I blew some coverages. A couple times we were in Cover 2 and I'm playing man because I was so locked in. Afterwards, Coach (Mike) Sherman called me upstairs and told me I can't get involved in those individual matchups."
Meanwhile, Northwestern AD Mark Murphy may not have been able to build a powerhouse Big 10 athletic department like my alma mater has, but it looks like he's got what it takes to take over for Bob Harlan as Packers CEO. Over in the Green Bay Post-Gazette, Tony Walter's saying the Metroplex is being overrun by cheeseheads. And in the Wisconsin State Journal, Jason Wilde chronicles the renaissance season Brett Favre's having.
Keep checking back here all day. We're gonna try and keep you going all day as we ramp up to the 7:15 p.m. kickoff.
