NFL Network had this story on how the rookies pick their numbers coming into the first mini-camp.

The Cowboys equipment staff - Mike McCord, Bucky Buchanan, Mike Kurowski and Steve Mangus - do a great job for the players. Like the athletic trainers, their work is often underappreciated. The hours these guys put in are amazing, even in an off-season.

Knowing how these guys operate, I would say McCord is taking some good-natured grief from the guys.

The video isn't working for me.

I keep wondering if Choice is going to keep #22. I wonder if he asked Emmitt for permission.

I will cry if I see choice wearing #22. That number should be retired. Along with 8, 88 and 12.

At first I heard Choice was wearing #32 and then at the mini-camp I saw him with #29.

I don't know why more RBs don't wear #32. When I was a kid, #32 and #33 were the numbers worn by the best RBs in the league.

Maybe, but Eric Dickerson wore #29...I'd be pretty happy with that as a 4th round pick.

Thanks for sharing this. It's a very interesting aspect of the game that we never get to see or hear about.

Its always cool to get "behind the scenes access" What they've done with Blue Star Media is great. Giving us a live look into the war room, the phone calls to the draft choices and the exclusive look at Felix Jones getting his helmet fitted.
