If you were in a room with 100 children, and one of them screamed all the time, for no apparent reason, what would you do? Honestly.
Bach would holler, "SHUT UP, JERRY JONES!" and that would be that.

And for the record.

Instead of imagining all the scenarios that Tony might or might not be criticized in, I'd rather imagine Tony getting this team a playoff win or two.

What's ridiculous is this thread. Cowboys fans pissing all over themselves over nothing. Again.
They have prescriptions for that Jimmy. Go see a Doctor.

That room is labeled "DCC" on the door. Too bad some have to open that door and wander over here.
Ouch.

It's perfectly clear to me that the media/fan separatism and attention has shifted to the new whipping boy from TO. That would be the venerable Tony Romo. The torch has officially been passed.

Both side can argue until they're blue in the face ( and further down the road to CTS) but the bottom line is that Romo's play and success on the field this year can quiet everything. No matter how much the Negative Nancies complain... or how much the Rose Colored Clarices defend... the only thing that will quell it all is the venerable Tony Romo.

Thing is, Tony Romo should be the very last person we're worried about.

Lets get nostalgic, he infused our 2006 team and carried us to the playoffs. Putting us in a position to win our first playoff game in a decade, a slippery football later he's the biggest choke artist in the game. Think about how difficult that had to be for basically a rookie QB playing for the already hated Cowboys.

Bounces back in 2007 to have one of the most statistically impressive seasons this franchise has ever seen. We're 13-3 on top of the football universe - then the Giants are dancing out of our stadium. Remember the Crayton drop? Remember Reeves' 12 yard cushion? Remember Romo putting the ball exactly where it needed to be but Crayton pulled up?

So he played well enough as a QB, maybe not a holder, to win two playoff games, but he still gets seen as a choke artist.

Last year was such a cluster **** of injuries, drama, and an utter lack of coaching competance that I give Romo props for still putting us in a position to go to the tournament. With terrible protection, Corey Proctor, a rookie RB, a broken pinky, aching back and ribs, a whining Owens, and a confused Roy Williams - he manned up and gutted it out.

Granted he makes things harder by his standoffish/insecure post-game comments and the celebrity girlfriend - he has suceeded in an environment that must've been hell for an undrafted QB.

Clint Stoener, Vinny Testaverde, Drew Bledsoe, Ryan Leaf, Tony Banks, Drew Henson, Randall Cunningham, Anthony Wright, and Brad Johnson. Have all started games in Dallas since the Aikman era. I'm sure I missed a few, but the point is - getting a great QB in this league is very rare.

We had one fall in our laps, and if you can't notice that he is incredibly talented then you're blind. When given a pocket he's just as surgical as Brady or Manning, but he's so used to running for his life that he's the best in the league at making the first rusher miss. I wish I could compile Romo's stats when he has a healthy offensive line, because I I'm absolutely certain that he has been a diamond surrounded by trash. Not only from a personal standpoint, but an organizational one as well. Crazy owner, lame duck coach, looming coordinator, dramatic WR, inconsistent o-line, and an average at best defense.

I feel sorry for the guy really, if he played for Pittsburgh he'd have a ring or two by now. [/rant]

Phenomenal post. People need a scapegoat so they don't acknowledge the things you've written in this great post.

Dumb analogy.

First, no one is screaming.

And secondly, you're just speculating - which would be equivalent to assuming that sometime in the future you'd be in the room with 100 kids and one happened to have an opposing view. Oh noes!!!11!!!

I reckon three Super Bowl rings allow Tom Brady to do as he pleases during the off-season.

Why yes, yes it does.

Thing is I'm not worried about Tony I know he is a top QB and I know that if this group of players start playing like a team and stay focused on the job at hand that they can compete for a championship.
