R-rated rapper Marty B showed his softer side for Quick, the DMN's weekly cousin.

Martellus Bennett is the Valentine's Week cover boy. He wrote some rap lyrics he thinks will melt the hearts of the ladies.
With game like that, I don't think we need to worry about Marty B bringing another celebrity girlfriend to the Valley Ranch Circus.

It’s the softer side of Martellus Bennett.

The Dallas Cowboys tight end and former Texas A&M star, also known as Marty B, has made headlines of late for his rap side projects. One of his freestyles shown on YouTube included scattered expletives while Bennett was wearing a Cowboys helmet. The team reportedly fined him one game check — $22,647.

But hey, it’s Valentine’s Day. So we sought him out for something a little more light-hearted — to write a romantic hip-hop song. Now, love raps are tricky. Only a few are considered classics (think Common’s “The Light,” Whodini’s “One Love” or the Roots’ “You Got Me”).

Marty B was up to the task.

“It was cool working on it,” he says. “You can’t be a hard-core dude all the time. Sometimes, even the roughest and toughest people need love.”
With help from our Sure Shot guru DeLano Washington, we gathered for a photo shoot last weekend. It often fell apart into laughter as Bennett, wearing a pink striped shirt and matching pink shoes, hammed it up for the camera.

“People don’t realize it, but I’m a smooth guy,” he says.

Bennett’s song is called “So Addictive,” and it’s here for your reading pleasure, along with his mix tape for romance.

Bennett deserved the fine he got from the team but overall I have no problem with Bennett. Yes he is young and immature at times heck he is 21 years old but he is not a problem player. He needs to do some growing up but how many 21 year olds don't?

he improved more then anybody from trainingcamp to the end of the yr.

I can't help but like this kid.

That's a good way to put it. I was more than irritated with youtube incident, as were you unless I'm mistaken. But he's a very interesting, unusual (in a good way) likeable kid.

I dont really think it is. It'd have to be one of the rookies. NONE of the vets improved much this year. I have a hard time thinking of anyone who actually got better this season. Ware and witten were already studs playing at top level.

So it'd be Jenkins, Bennett,Choice,Scandrick,Austin.

Austin got hurt, so i'd narrow it down to bennett,choice,scandrick for who improved the most. I'd prob go with bennett.
