he grew on me over the course or the yr. lol, alot of people ar gonna gripe about this next comment, but i dont care. i see alot of TO in him. Just the amount of work he put in from the time he got to dallas.

he improved more then anybody from trainingcamp to the end of the yr.
Helps when the other team doesn't cover you.

I dont really think it is. It'd have to be one of the rookies. NONE of the vets improved much this year. I have a hard time thinking of anyone who actually got better this season. Ware and witten were already studs playing at top level.

So it'd be Jenkins, Bennett,Choice,Scandrick,Austin.

Austin got hurt, so i'd narrow it down to bennett, choice, scandrick for who improved the most. I'd prob go with bennett.

Austin was light years ahead of where he was a year ago, getting hurt doesn't mean he didn't improve. I was ready to ship Austin off before the year and now I think the team needs to keep him and Austin never had the luxury of being a player with a lot invested in him, as Bennett does, he's stayed around by working, I respect that.

I was just thinking the opposite.

I have no problems with Bennett. Super talented guy who, like someone has already said, just needs to grow a little.

He's just writing a few songs and having a little fun in the off-season. No big deal. He did use poor judgment on one, but he's been disciplined for that pretty harshly (rightly so).

The guy has a good heart, I think. If he was writing poetry instead of rap, I don't think anyone would have an issue with it... when really, it is just a form of poetry that he's doing. He's just having fun with it.

I don't hold it against him at all.

That's a good way to put it. I was more than irritated with youtube incident, as were you unless I'm mistaken. But he's a very interesting, unusual (in a good way) likeable kid.
The team handled the incident and he responded well to the punishment as far as I was concerned. I just like being entertained by characters and this kid is one for sure, and a darn good football player on top of that.

Exactly.

I actually worry more about Mike Jenkins than I do Bennett.

Are you saying this as a league wide conspiracy, or is he scaring away LBs with his rapping skills?

THE MARTY B MIX TAPE: ROMANCE EDITION

“Cupid” by 112: A great song that’s perfect for Valentine’s Day.

“All My Life” by K-Ci & JoJo: Makes you think of that special someone and how you’re thankful to have them.

“I Wanna Luv U” by Donell Jones: You can play this song and it will speak to her for you. Just stay out of the way and let it work.

“Happily Ever After” by Case: This is a good wedding song. This will definitely be on my Wedding Edition Mix Tape as well.

marellus-1.jpg

“I Gotta Be” by Jagged Edge: This was a hard song to pick because they have quite a few songs that could have made it here. I chose this one because it was their first big song.

“Beauty” by Dru Hill: I picture my high school sweetheart every time I hear this song.

“I Was Made to Love You” by Gerald Levert: A song that explains how different dating experiences in your life make you ready to be with that special person.

“Three Letter Word” by Jamie Foxx: Listen to it and you will understand.

“Love” by Musiq Soulchild: One of the best songs ever that talks about love on a more complex level.

Any R. Kelly song: One of the greatest artists of our time, so any of his music is perfect for this mix tape.

BONUS TRACKS:
These are some additional songs for your listening pleasure. I’ve been thinking about just making different volumes of my Romance Edition, because there are so many good songs out there.

“If You” by Silk

“Love You More” by Ginuwine

“You” by Jesse Powell

“Forever My Lady” by Jodeci

“Lady” by D’Angelo

“The Only One for Me” by Brian McKnight

You can he's a young-buck! No Luther Vandross? No Earth Wind & Fire? No Marvin Gaye? No Stevie Wonder? No Teddy P? He needs my iPod so he can find some REAL love songs!:D

Well Stevie Wonder is no Bennett. Stevie runs bad routs and can't catch a football worth a damn. :laugh2:

note: the ones that developed successfully here, did not have the attributes I mentioned about Bennett.

YOui would have thought that after Marty B came one this season that a lot of this type handwringing would go away.

Really WD, why is that? If you don't mind me asking.

Because I see a rookie, 2nd string TE who is chasing the spotlight like he is an established Pro Bowler.

Everything this kid does, from dunking basketballs over his coaches head, to rap videos, to apology rap videos, to this and much more to come I am sure, screams "Look at me!"

And I think it is only going to get worse when he has some actual success.

I agree. I like him and more importantly he made more plays this last season, his rookie season, for us than the guy before him made in 2 or 3 full seasons in that position.

I don't know what to think about him. One thing for sure, is that he's got talent. During Hard Knocks, I thought he was an arrogant little jerk, but I now think he's just a big kid who has no idea he's supposed to be a least a little intimidated this far up.

He does need to learn his "place", and the vets will teach him that. By that, I mean that rookies just don't come in and act like they're "one of the guys". He has to prove he belongs, and put forth the effort that makes vets know, "I've worked as hard as you to learn my craft, and I got your back".
