This is a big week for Jerry Jones and Cowboys Stadium with the Manny Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey fight there this weekend.
On Monday, Jones attended a Clottey workout and was asked about the Cowboys' inactivity in free agency so far.
"Impatient is not the word and what we're doing, we're pleased with what we have in place with the Cowboys," the owner and GM told reporters at the workout. "But if you look at our past several years we've never jumped right out there in free agency and really I don't ever look at what other teams are doing. It just doesn't fit the Cowboys. I look at what we're about and we have some places that we can improve our team in free agency just as we will in the draft, but there's no angst about getting anxious here. We're just watching it unfold."
The Cowboys have jumped out there in recent years with the signings of Anthony Henry, Jason Ferguson and Marco Rivera in 2005 and Kyle Kosier in 2006 on the opening day of free agency, but they will give the market time, generally, to sort out unless they target a specific player.
So far they have not found a player they want to target.
