That is the single dumbest thing he could have said.

I used to think Jerry had more brains than that. Now I'm starting to wonder.

:bang2: Jerry is becoming the next Al Davis.

While I agree to a point, Al Davis actually fires head coaches at a record pace. Unfortunately, JJ is doing the opposite.

Just as well you arnt listening...really pathetic stuff

Dbair, seriously, why is JJ defending Wade? He really thinks Wade is going to turn this around? Or is JJ blaming injuries?

I mean, what is Wade going to do differently that he couldn't have done the past season?

the fact that Jerry doesnt realize that Wade is not HC material is both insane and scary... that my friends is the GM of your Dallas Cowboys!!!!!!!

*pulls the trigger*

I won't go that far.

However, I may choose to not buy anymore Cowboys gear or go to any games (not like I was going to be able to afford the outrageous tickets anyway).

I will still root for them

I thought last season exhausted me as a fan. I didn't buy merchandise this season, wasn't all that interested in attending the games and took a "wait and see" approach until December.

Well, this year by far took the cake of exhausting me.

I'm in a similar boat to you all. I'm not going to "give up" on the team. I've been a die-hard fan for closing in on two decades. I'm not going to jump ship.

But I'll say this: if Jerry keeps Wade as the coach, I'll continue to have no interest in buying merchandise, won't attend the games and won't even make it a priority to watch the games in their entirety on Sundays. Again, I'm not going to NOT be a fan -- but my time as a true fanatic might have to be suspended.

Let's put it this way: If the wife says, "Hey hunny, let's go to Garden Ridge" at 3:15 on a Sunday afternoon, I might actually take her up on the offer.

For as long as Wade's the head coach, you know how the story will end. We've seen this movie. It's like trying to sit through the sixth and seventh sequels of some flick. No reason to watch.

And Wade's experience is stellar as a DC.

As a HC, not so much...

EXACTLY!!!

No one is doubting that Wade was and continues to be a fine defensive coordinator here. It's the head coaching aspect in which he sucks.

And, unfortunately, his inability to perform the second job trumps his ability to do the first.

Wade is Jerry's glorified defensive coordinator. Just like Campo was. And just like Gailey was, except on the offensive side of the ball.

I have no idea of the team can buy into what the HC has to say when they know he doesn't even have control of his own staff and is basically a figurehead. No one is going to respect him and it obviously shows. They see Jerry is really running things and then in the other corner is Jerry's boy Garrett, just waiting to take over.

I'm not sure how much stock I would put in anything Jerry says right now. A month from now he might very well have a change of heart.

hope he snaps out of it. Still talking about continuity bringin back Wae and Garrett. Hopefully Stephen can talk sense into him. Reminds me of when great Walenda fell of high wire between two sky scrapers holding the balancing poll all the way down. Wade is the pole in this case.

I dont know, I dont get it. If the team had played better than it did the past month and didnt get in, it might be one thing to say what he is saying. But the team was basically God-awful the entire month, especially the last two games.

There's really nothing else they can do to improve the team if Wade and co stay as coaches IMO. We have a loaded roster other than a couple of exceptions, and we couldnt even get the 6th seed in the playoffs.

this is really depressing

I'll focus on the draft and free agency, but if Wade is still here, I'll just check up on the young guys, and the guys from this last draft class during the season, and that's it

Wade shows no emotion. He's the guy at works who sighs when things go wrong but as long as the checks appear every other Friday, he keeps doing what he's already doing.

This team is a joke and changes are needed. The whole coaching staff should be on notice.

Was this just a repeat of what he stated earlier this week or did he reiterate that Wade Phillips would be back after the loss tonight?
From the original blog entry

"This is obviously very disappointing right now," Jerry said, "but we won't have a head coaching change."

jerry's fragile ego is more important than running the football operations properly.

we have 20 years evidence of this.

keeping wade/jason and saving $9mil is no surprise from the worst gm in football 20 years running.

Yeah, I think at some point we fans have to stop being enablers of Jerry Jones.

I defended Jerry Jones but I think it is appearant that he is part of the problem.

Again, he has his new stadium, he has no reason to change.

I always felt that one of the reason why Bill Parcells was brought in is because Jerry Jones feared he wouldn't get the new stadium if the team didn't start showing signs of turning the corner, with regards to winning.

then what would be the point of saying it? there is already plenty of drama in dallas. this really wouldn't change too much.

If Wade had any dignity, after today he'd quit. He took a very good football team and has run it into the ground.

We're all talk when it comes to jumping off the bandwagon, but it's going to be a really tough off-season for sure.
