Bryan Broaddus says on 103.3 that he talked to some people at VR and they believe the Jerry statement of today that they aren't interested in him. Says they really do believe in Jenkins and Scandrick and have no desire to go back to the Pacman circus.

Also says in his time around Jerry, there were lots of times where Jerry would make off-the-wall comments like this and they'd kind of wonder if he was serious, but then he'd give that smile like he wasn't really serious. Broaddus seems to be wondering if that's what happened here.

Jerruh should realize by now that off the cuff comments have a way of biting you on the rear end.

Dalrymple left out the "As I stand here right now" part.

Not really...

He did say they have no plans to do it.

That's not to say that tomorrow they don't devise one and Pacman is here for training camp come late July.

when I read the quote it sure sounded like he was kidding around.

I didn't get why it was even a story, or well I get it, but I don't get it.

Pacman Going Back To Cowboys? Never Mind
Posted by Aaron Wilson on June 8, 2009, 3:33 p.m.

Perhaps Dallas Cowboys team owner Jerry Jones was just putting it out there as a trial balloon when he told Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that he was pondering a potential reunion with trouble-prone cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones.

Or maybe he was just joking around during an interview with Hill during the George Strait contest this weekend at the Cowboys’ new stadium. Or it could just be a case of second thoughts.

Regardless of the reason why, Jerry Jones said he isn’t going to re-sign Pacman Jones, according to Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News.

In a comment released through team spokesman Rich Dalrymple, Jerry Jones shot down re-signing Pacman Jones, saying: “I have no plans to bring Adam back.”

Jones’ agent said that the Cowboys haven’t been in touch with him.

“He would love to have another opportunity with the Cowboys,” said Worrick Robinson, who represents Jones. “When he left, he was hoping that there would be that possibility. I think he was a productive player when he was on the field and the gradings showed that. But when he was released it was certainly disappointing, but he knows it’s a business. . . .

“We’ve been told to be patient and that’s what we’re doing. If something works out, I think it’ll be closer to training camp. It’s not surprising to know that [NFL teams] don’t want the discussions taking place in the media just because it creates a whirlwind atmosphere again. ”

Robinson said he has spoken with several undisclosed NFL teams as well as the United Football League. Per the report, Jones is still living in Texas and working out with Deion Sanders.

Meanwhile, Calvin Watkins of AOL Sports Fanhouse writes that Pacman Jones is having money problems and is living in a home owned by Jerry Jones.

“Jerry Jones is a caring man and that’s part of the reason why he thought of returning Pacman Jones to the Cowboys,” Watkins writes. “One major problem for Pacman Jones is that he’s broke. He had severe money issues when the Cowboys traded for him last year, so much so that Pacman borrowed money from one of his bodyguards. Jerry Jones said last season he had to put a stop to the payday loans and get control of Pacman’s finances.”

It was a story because he is the one who opened his mouth and made it one.

I don't get why he said it.

Unfortunately, it wasn't funny, so if that was his aim he failed badly. What is sad is that even though it might have been made in jest, people took him seriously. And rightfully so. He's made some very questionable comments over the years.

I knew he was having money problems but don't remember hearing about the above.

Why is it bad to bring Pacman back?

What specifically would happen if he was brought in as a 4th CB? Are the risks greater to bring him in or count on another rookie to play key downs when TNew gets hurt?

The complaints about ESPN has washed over many on this site. The media says its wrong for Dallas, but others are linked to talking with him and its not news and no big deal.

No.

It was reported by the FWST first.

You can't blame this on the media. Blame the giddy and probably inebriated Owner/GM for making the irresponsible comment in the first place.

Because most of this offseason was spent eliminating bad attitudes and questionable character from the team. Or so we were told.

If you go against that theme, then basically he has no credibility with the players. That is a concern.

He could bring in Ted Bundy and Charles Manson if they could play, I wouldn't care. But I am certain his players do care. And even though he thinks chemistry doesn't matter, it most certainly does.

Like it or not, Jerry Jones has to have his team believing in the decisions he makes. He's put himself in a unique situation where since he is viewed as the ultimate decision maker that the decisions he makes have to have buy-in. This would be a tough sell.

This has nothing to do with the fans. Most of us are so devoted, we would still support this team despite him. Sadly, he seems to forget that.

We don't need more publicity. We don't need it.

We want a winner again.

I'd like to see him back and that's why. The guy has a past and there's no getting around that. I just never understood what he did so bad in Dallas to warrant his release.

I'm not tied in with the team. I have no idea what the players really think of him. From what I have read from players/coaches here and in Ten is that he a good teammate and hard worker.

All his **** seemed to be off the field ****.

Now I know it's so easy to say "hell no I don't want him".
But lets see you say that the day after Newman goes down for the year in training camp......god forbid!

I think jerry is a really good guy, that is pretty amazing given how successful he is.

All heart, that one.

God forbid we actually have faith in Orlando Scandrick, Mike Jenkins, Alan Ball or Mike Mickens.

And that is why you cannot count on him!

Now, if Jerry owned a few 'scrip clubs', maybe from a financial point it might be wise...other then that...NO!

This just gave ESPN a free chance to say Pacman Jones and Dallas Cowboys in the same sentence.

Jerry,

That is a loser for your business, the Dallas Cowboys.

You do the right thing and get rid of that Homer Simpson, overrated psycho, and then you say something crazy like that.

Watch what you say.

This guy has already taken reps away from Jenkins and Scandrick.

I would rather go 0-16 than have that idiot back on my team, and I supported him the first time.

I personally would like to kick Jerry Jones right in the balls for even mentioning Pacman's name in any way other than to say "good riddance."

Now we get the media buying popcorn and waiting for the circus to roll back into town. It's the new version of "any of 500 guys could coach this team."

Keep that piece of trash away from this team. He was worthless.
